Battle rifles - retro AR10s, HK G3s, FN FALs - are probably my favorite "on paper", only because I've not fired one yet. I just like the aesthetic, how they function, the fact they fire a full sized rifle round, and that the latter two were used for blasting commies/in African bush wars.

As far as guns I either own or have fired, you can't go wrong with a trusty AR which is as modular and customizable as a Honda Civic, light, good ergonomics, reliable particularly with the DI gas system as God intended it, and fires a capable and widely available cartridge. And, again, because it's the antithesis of a commie AK which has the aesthetic and build quality you'd expect from the now defunct Soviet Union.

I don't care much about pistols but I like my CZ75, full steel (polymer guns are for fags).

I've only fired a legit WW2 M1 carbine in 30cal. It was neat and basically just an old version of my Mini14. Relatedly, my first gun ever was a Mosin Nagant, back when they cost literally 70-80 bucks in good shape. Now they cost probably 5x that. It's a C&R gun so they shipped it directly to my house, no transfer needed. The cost of cheap curio/WW2 guns has gone through the roof, sadly. I always wanted to pick up a K98 when they were still only a few hundred but that ship has sailed.
