My dad works in mysterious ways sometimes

1. Today, while I was heating some food in the oven (I have to make dinner sometimes because on certain days of the week my mom has to work), I was asking a lot of questions about the rice that I was making. I asked my dad one question and he snapped at me, and when my brother tried answering my dad just shouted at him to go back to studying

2. My dad will interpret "don't look at my personal files" as some sign that you're hiding something, and he'll snoop around my personal stuff about it. I am about to start walking to high school alone but apparently I still need microsoft family features.

3. Just now, my dad was helping me install Joplin (a cool app for saving bookmarks across devices), and at one point he said "Hmm, that's interesting..." and by the time he was done, I heard him say "well, that's deeply disappointing". He didn't tell me what it was about. At the beginning of me handing my laptop to him, I tried closing all tabs because I hate it when he looks at my tabs/downloaded files. He told me "don't worry, don't worry, I won't snoop". I have no idea what he thought was "deeply disappointing". He seems to be mad at me now.

I mean, other than the occasional weird/angry moment that he has, he's a cool dad. Just that these three things are kind of irking me right now.

Sucks to hear those things, kind of sounds like he's a bit of a helicopter parent.

No, not really. He just doesn't want me hiding things from him. In reality, the main reason I hide things from him is because it embarasses me when he just starts asking "are you using 3D Movie Maker again?" and stuff. To be fair, he doesn't ask me that, but if he were to, I would throw my computer out the window. My main point is that I just like privacy, but he interprets it the wrong way.

You have your own laptop, once when i was a horny kid i broke the family computer because i downloaded 90s hard core porn on it with dial up and installed some virus that fucked the pc. In the process of fixing it my parents got to see all the porn i downloaded my dad thought it was hilarious.

Clearly your father didn't suspect anything of you, which is why he didn't care about checking your internet activity and finding out that you're an annoying piece of shit.

That was a bad move for him to take.
