How important is a story for you in a 3dmm film?

If the animation in a 3dmm movie was garbage but the story was great would you still enjoy the movie or If the story was garbage but the animation was great would you still enjoy it or do you believe you need a solid story and solid animation to have a good 3dmm movie?

not to crank my own horn pipe for the millionth time but i think Cat Bones is a good example of a happy medium, i have never been good at animating or had much patience / work ethic but i believe the pacing of the adventure story element and the time i put in to the scenery, although both arguably quite shitty, come together to make a decent flick, what i’m trying to say is that neither elements have to be amazing as long as both are decent enough and you have some sorta defined idea of what the overall thing should feel like

Animations are cool, but watching Forrest Gump would be hard if it was just shots of him walking around and running.
