So it seems from my observation that there's quite a split down the middle here when it comes to opinions on the current status of 3dmm.com. Every time I log in here all I see is an overabundance of shitty threads created by the autistic newbies followed closely by the same basic argument from everybody else over how to handle it.

It feels like when it comes to this there are two camps: one side who think we can't/shouldn't really do anything as telling these autistic kids off for their behaviour is ultimately pointless and banning them for it would be considered cruel, they're driven by compassion and inclusivity. And then we have one side full of people frustrated at how it's all just being swept under the rug and being told how mean or intolerant they're being, that if they don't like the way it's all being handled than they can simply leave. They might not necessarily be an asshole but they're frustrated at how chaotic this place has become over the years with the amount of spamming autistic kids, their imp accounts and shitty movies making this place no longer a fun place to hang out. Because of this they just don't give a shit anymore.

I made this thread because I genuinely want to know where everybody stands on this subject as it's inherently the hot topic in this community at the moment, it's plaguing almost every thread I pop my head into and is almost always what's being discussed whenever I pop my head into the discord server. It's fucking frustrating, not to mention boring as shit. I can't tell you how many times I've logged in, seen the amount of pointless crap and the same fucking argument being made, roll my fucking eyes and log straight out. I can also guarantee that dozens of people, if not more have done the same thing, in some cases logged out probably for the last time ever.

This should be considered a serious problem and I'm honestly kinda surprised it's not. Older members here are growing more and more frustrated and alienated with this place, the rampaging autistic kids and the "they're not the problem, you are" attitude that so many people have adopted. Some of these people are those that literally shaped this community and the standard for quality movies and threads etc. I think they're allowed to express their frustration as it is a simple fact that 3dmm.com has become a fucking embarrassment over all this. I barely post here anymore as this has become too tiring to look at, honestly I feel like if things keep going the way they are I will eventually just stop posting here altogether. With this in mind I'm asking myself, am I being intolerant or are these kids/the ensuing argument that plagues this place just that fucking intolerable? And I now wander what everyone else thinks, about themselves and this place as a whole.

Rather than derail every other thread with this topic let's discuss it here, preferably without tearing each other a new asshole over differing opinions but this IS 3dmm.com, I've been here long enough to know that's not gonna happen.

I don't think we should just start banning autists, I'll give you that. I just think that with the amount of spam and incoherent derailing that Patryk has caused (not to mention the fact that he's been banned 5 or 6 times on this account alone), it warrants a permaban. That should be a permaban at LEAST, because he's done things which are not only ethically wrong (calling Jeff Ching the n-word, a thing which another 3DMMer did to Jesterfoot and which has gotten them banned) but also LEGALLY wrong things (sending NSFW photos of himself 5 times in the old 3DMM discord server, even though we kept telling him to stop each time he did it). I understand there's a rule on off-site behaviour, but at what point does that start becoming more of a welcome sign for terrible people than the protection of free speech? People like Evablue have done things which should get them arrested, and which could possibly endanger a younger user of the site. Yet, this notion of keeping "free speech" around is enforced. Why even bother anymore? Patryk has done things both off-site AND on-site that should've given him a permaban at this point, but because he has autism then it's suddenly some crime to ban an annoying little turd? We've pretty much chased away 5 long-time, respected members from the site. Dustin Guest, Ben Rice, Guy Collins, and Red Scorpion have all stopped posting or at least slowed it down because the amount of spam and shitty posts from Patryk and co. have deterred them. Marko Polo is the 5th person, although he hasn't actually admitted if he was chased away. He just went quiet after getting mad at Patryk, and I suspect MANY other posters went this route as well. Patryk may not have a direct goal to drive these people away, but rather a subconscious one.



At what point does it stop becoming a protection of free speech and starts becoming a killer of it? Nobody wants Patryk around, maybe 4 or 5 members actually want him to be kept. But these people, who value freedom and the free ability to voice your opinions, have killed the more active veterans of the forum and instead placed 2 babbling autists in their place. What is this, a daycare? No, it isn't. Nobody cares about little Timmy wanting his voice to be heard, and nobody should have to leave the classroom because they feel discouraged by Timmy spreading his words everywhere.

I can hear it now, the echoing voice of the moderators telling me to block Patryk. Sadly, I don't give a shit. What good does it serve if the front page of 3dmm.com is just gonna start telling every new member to block him? That's like running around naked every morning, in front of a kindergarten classroom, and instead of being arrested, the cops tell the classroom to cover their eyes. If you have the power to end this shitty flood, why not use that power to your own good? Why not allow all of these long-gone members to return and not have to worry about their threads and posts being used as toilet paper by an annoying piece of trash who rambles on and on? If 3dmm.com was raised by allowing these people to stay, I guarantee you that 80% of the community and the active movie makers would have left this place behind for good because it would revert this serious movie making community into a hub for 12 year olds to post their first efforts with the program and act like they're good.

I can't stress this enough, 3dmm.com, please get rid of Patryk. If this is so unreasonable to ask, and indeed silences your precious free speech, then go ahead and ban ME. Because doing that would solve many more problems on my end than it would to stand here and preach like it's the end of the world.

I think the autist are intolerable but I also think a big part of the problem is the non autist also being intolerable by doing nothing to really help the situation but just whine about it constantly and it’s honestly more annoying than the actual problem by people just continually complaining you’ve just added more flames to a fire. I want Patryk banned personally but super mods have stated they won’t ban him and Space Goat would probably say the same so having this discussion is a waste of time and only makes the situation worse. Best thing to do is to just ignore them, if you look past all the garbage threads there are actual good stuff to be looking forward to on 3dmm and if you’re actually good at 3dmm but feel unmotivated to work on stuff you shouldn’t be there are still plenty of people who want to see quality movies being done and your movie will most likely be pinned and given even more attention.
