Should Pizza be panned?

Pan pizza? Thin-crust? Deep dish? Which do you prefer?

It took me about 20 years to acquire the taste for it, but I've finally come around to St. Louis-style pizza, which is SUPER thin crust.

Deep dish is clearly superior

It's REALLY hit or miss. Sometimes it's a beautiful buttery gold pastry crust, with a light but delicious stringy mozzarella filling. Sometimes it's just a greasy dry mess that drips with hot cheese oils when you rip it apart.
I end up with the latter more often than not.

Deep Dish is awesome. Pan fried is just a poor man's deep dish. Also, pretty good for a greasy mess.

Thin is, surprisingly, awesome.

I don't say this as a diplomat, but as a lover of pizza. The ingredients and the methodology can make either of these styles some of the best stuff you've ever put in your mouth.

I feel like I have to defend Deep Dish because it's the underdog, but there's something to be said for versatility- and thin is good no matter the season. The second-to-last-thing I want is deep dish pizza in August. The last thing I want is no pizza in August.

I had deep dish for the first time in like, 2019? And it’s SO GOOD oh man

I would put pan second because Pizza Hut pan is my favourite of all the biggest pizza place’s crusts. But the obvious answer is “all pizza is great!!!!!”

I'm an armchair critic of pizza, but the truth is I'm a total fraud because I've never had deep dish.

I've never had true deep dish pizza either. This shitty pizza place by my old school had "deep dish" pizza for like $5, but it was more dough than sauce. Miserable shit.

Just made a pizza with garlic bechamel sauce, feta cheese, grilled chicken, green olives, sweet onion and mushrooms. It was incredible. I forgot about the fresh basil, though.

Even though they’re both greasy, sausage and pepperoni.

in my opinion the best pizza toppings is sausage and green peppers, or else chicken and onions with barbecue sauce

Never tried BBQ sauce on pizza. Seems a bit too flavorful, but I guess it's a per-place basis.

Domino's Texas BBQ Pizza with added Jalepenos is amazing. (and the Garlic & Herb dip)

The after effects not so much.
