almost but not yet, the production of diesel vehicles are being banned in the UK for 2030, so we have another 9 years of ppl buying them and then probably another 15+ of them still being on the road

Gas cars are still being made, and electric cars are too expensive for most people.

EVs will likely overtake ICEs in our lifetimes. They've gained significant traction over the last 10 years. All that remains to make them fully mainstream is widespread charging infrastructure, and bringing the price down to affordable levels (20k-25k). The reliability and range is currently acceptable and will only improve.
