Guns in V3DMM

I think I have an idea for V3DMM guns, so you know how you need an image of the textures for the model, what if it was untextured and it would be kind of like a 3D Text Font.

You could attach parts to your realistic but untextured weapon for animating.

You don't have to make your own model, you could take one like an easy grab, for example, this shotgun from Dead Rising.

But remember, you can't directly convert the OBJ, size is a thing that matters.

The only problem here is that the guns would have to remain untextured, which severely limits their usefulness.

You can change it to a gradient color in the costume changer atleast.

Or y'know, use the original texture and stop trying to pass it off as a "handmade 3DMM gun".

This isn't a bad idea at all, but as everybody above states, it would limit the gun concept a lot, which is probably a bad idea for a gun-oriented movie.

Too little too late, Hans, I already made half of a font based around this concept.

Well for some complicated parts like magazines, you can make a separate model which was detached from your gun.

This can also be done with other weapons such as grenades or knifes, I think as props, you'd get more space.
