Derek Chauvin acquitted or not?

The trial has been wild, for a court case anyway. The defense seem fairly competent and have managed to get witnesses and pathologists to admit to things that don't align with what the prosecution is after. Doctors have admitted that if they saw him - without cops on top of him - they'd mark it as heart failure, drug overdose etc.

Whether the lethal amounts of Fentanyl in his system caused Hypoxia or Chauvin being on his neck or upper back cut his oxygen (being debated still), I still think he shouldn't have been on top of him for that long - especially after he stopped moving. If a guy stops moving/breathing, get off.

Thoughts? Do you think he'll be acquitted? How much in damages will the riots cost, regardless of the outcome? Will CNN twist their headlines to incite violence again?

Prediction: Chauvin won't be charged with 1st/2nd degree murder. He will be charged with 3rd degree manslaughter. Enough to put him away for a long time. CNN will use this to their advantage and push headlines such as 'Chauvin murder charges dropped.' to cause outrage and riots that will help boost their ratings post-Trump.

Obviously should be. The media reporting on this has been disgraceful however so most people don't even know the facts of the case.

Haha I mean, how biased the media has been doesn't affect his guilt.

The majority of people don't know the facts being brought to light, so people just assume "innocent black man choked to death on ground by evil cop and his knee". The media isn't being transparent, at all, and people continue to buy it. All hell will break loose if he's acquitted because people have only been fed the specifics.

I have virtually no interest in George Floyd. He was a drain on society and now he's dead. His family cares. BLM stooges and whoever benefits from BLM uproar cares. That's it. To everyone else, he was a criminal who most likely died from drugs. The process was simply helped along by a police officer kneeling on his neck. They should be pinning a medal to Chauvin's chest. The reason blacks are never going to rise above is that they'd rather spend time honoring a piece of shit like Floyd than making a concerted internal effort to better their situation like Jews and Asians (two of the highest IQ groups, high earning potential, low crime, etc.), because outrage is way easier than actually working for a better future.

I think we should arm the paramedics, and firefighters too. Then we can start seeing some real social change.

Not exactly true. The rioting, as expected, hasn't brought about any real change.. Except for one of the "leaders", she bought 4 mansions with the money she duped stupid people into donating. If anything, the outrage is only causing more damage: m/billions in property damage, sky high crime rate, companies moving to other states etc.

I said it was easier. I didn't say it was effective.

Chauvin will walk not because he knelled on Floyd's neck, but because cops aren't responsible for helping you in a crisis.

I don't have all the facts, but I have a hunch.... Chauvin's just a fucking asshole

He had a pre-existing relationship with George Floyd, and the two did not like each other. I don't think it was about race really

I knew Floyd was known throughout his community, but this is the first I'm hearing about him personally knowing Chauvin.

They worked together as door security years before. If Floyd and Chauvin hated each other (or if Floyd was scared of Chauvin), surely he wouldn't have been begging his enemy/a man he hated to "Stay with me, please?"

Jury were shitting their pants. Not guilty would've likely resulted in a state of emergency, so at least we know the riots won't be as bad now. Still not quite sure how he can be guilty of 3rd AND unintentional 2nd though, seems a tad daft.

I'm disappointed but also don't give a shit. All this talk about America going down the tubes and I'm still living a comfortable life in an exclusive white rural area, so I don't have to personally deal with any of this race baiting horseshit. Guess that's my privilege or whatever.

The American Dream used to be about earning a lot of money and pulling oneself up by one's bootstraps. Now I consider it to be earning enough money to withdraw from society, and that's becoming increasingly common as more people sick of hearing about the latest outrage flavor of the week, whether it be race or mass shootings or whatever, and sick of society in general retreat to the woods.

Never been there but imagine it's way better than living in a city where you'll find hordes of young and middle aged bums wandering the streets in the middle of the day without work, hanging out on stoops, and bitching about muh oppression while they literally destroy their own communities through crime, violence, not maintaining their homes or neighborhoods, graffiti, etc. I'd take just about anything over that. The only nice parts of any city are the gentrified areas, and even then you'll find the mentally ill and homeless milling around, demonstrations like the Black Israelites set up at major traffic areas where they're loudly proclaiming we wuz kangz bullshit and heckling passerbys, etc. It makes my skin crawl to even imagine.

I don't know if his family has already sued but, if not, it's imminent. Then they can get a nice paycheck for his death. If they're wise, they'll use it to elevate themselves out of that situation but the old adage rings true - "you can take a girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park outta the girl". Furthermore, it's just less money the city has to use for public services, so it's an irony of tragic proportions.
