I wanna make a mafia film but it's shit, I got tired after my previous P-A-M, and I'm in a shit spot in life right now. Been really stressed recently and I've lost all motivation to do anything for the past three months or so.

No. School has been a bitch (teacher is using asynchronous days as an excuse to give us 10-12 assignments all due in one day), which caused me to lose motivation on making my latest movie. I quickly shit out an ending with simple dashes squashed to make buildings, and it shows. The ending sucked ass, and it kinda ruined my film which I put a lot of work into. I started a mafia film 1-2 days ago, but I'm probably gonna give up on it because my attempts at making a good mafia film are as good as dead. Plus, I've been a dick on the forums as well. Whenever I get a compliment, I start feeling overly pompous and stuff and eventually all of my "good streaks" with people here are diminished because I became too cocky and did something stupid because I thought I was cool. When I joined, I wanted to try and break the mold of being a "typical newbie" to the site, but by now all of that shit is out the window and I'm pretty much the new Austin French Fry of 2020.

I dunno man things have been fucking me over recently. Not to mention that my latest PAM took some motivation, because I kept animating a single prop and being "done for the day" because I was too sick and tired of school and family stuff to do more. The middle scene of the movie is pretty much the last point in which I tried, because the rest is just some cool showcase of a half-assed custom scene and a sloppy camera pan ending.


On the bright side, I at least have some motivation for the clusterfuck of work that is my custom texture job for Gavin's misty city map. I'm porting that over to 3dmm slowly but surely. It exported without textures though, so I'm ready to just say "fuck it" and shove it aside because it's taken me a looong time just to texture the road.

Fuck no, that stupid hoop had a minigame with speakers which blasted your ears out. Anyways it was too flimsy to let you miss, it usually just bent until the ball fell in anyways. Sometimes it would bend so hard that it would launch the ball back out

Don't overthink it too much plopilpy, most of us on the forum are in our 30's and we have real jobs and families and shit. We aren't really too concerned with the posting of a newbie. I dn't mean that in a harsh way, just to say that you shouldn't worry about seeming like "this" or "that" because most people (just as in life) are too caught up in their own bullshit to really notice one way or the other.

Personally I think it's great that we're still getting new members after all these years. Otherwise the forums would stagnate and fully die. Just keep making movies, post your best, post in courage, post with honor... The Poster's Motto

Dude, if you think it's bad NOW, you should be glad we're not all in our teens anymore. This place was a fucking meat grinder. People were relentless.

Also, keep in mind, there's no time requirement on making movies. Animate when you feel the inspiration. You don't need to make it in a day, a week, a month, or even a year. If you're not feeling it, you'll end up unhappy with the results anyway. Remember, making movies is supposed to be fun. It's a hobby. Take a break when you need to.
