Worked past 3am last night (sunday) and then got up for my 9am meeting and I'm still working at 7pm

I took off all next week but given the state of shit right now I'll probably have to cancel one of those days and sign into work for shit

Wanna just get blacked out and drive golf balls into a lake

technically I'm somewhere between QA and dev ops, so I should be doing a lot of automation and process work, but the company I work for sucks so I spend most of my time filling out paperwork that should in no way be my job

we had two open positions for QA before covid, and then one of my coworkers quit and then my boss quit, so we've got 4 people doing the work of 8 and two of the four are useless and the third is on vacation right now so I'm a little stressed

and with my old boss leaving, her boss became my boss, and she's just the absolute fucking worst, but the position finally got filled and I get a new boss next monday, hopefully he doesn't suck, I dunno

like I haven't even had time to have a quick wank during work hours the past week

Yeah my past couple weeks have been something similar. It all started with an 11 PM fire call, we worked that one overnight and all through the next day, worked all through that weekend, then the following week got another call at 8 PM, right after I got home from work, headed back out and was there til midnight then had work at 5 am the next day. Then we got another call during the workday on Wednesday, worked that one til about midnight again, then back at it at 5 AM the next day, and worked until like 11 PM. The whole 2 days on that fire, I ate 1 bowl of cereal, 2 granola bars, and a tortilla with cheese spread from an MRE. But the good news is, then I got sick (from lack of sleep + Food) and they gave me this whole week off with pay

So anyway, the moral of the story is, just hang in there!! Maybe soon you will get a break. And if not, hey! Tons of money

I just re-read the OP and he also says he'll have next week off. Similar to my situation the past couple weeks and then getting this week off. So just stay strong Lord Blazer it'll all be worth it, after a week off you'll be fully rested up and itching to get back to work

if it weren't for covid I'd be trying to make my side hustle my primary but shit people don't need interactive event installations when there's no events

I took a real good dive while wakeboarding a couple years back and I think I have permanent spine damage in like ~c2 and two weeks ago, stretching my neck turned into a very sore neck followed by a migraine and having to keep and ice pack on my neck for four hours to even be able to move again and boy I really don't want to have to get my neck fused that shit's gonna suck

and I can't thanksgiving because of the whole plague thing so I think I'm just gonna get real shitty and fuck around and cut some wood tomorrow and that'll be nice

Sorry, blatantly asking your age and not replying seems really rude.

Just sounds like you're having a rough one. The closest I can empathize is when I was doing garbage collection.

Wake up 3.45am, be at the pickup point by 4.20am. Sign in at 5am, then sign up for... however long it takes. Sometimes it was 7 hours, sometimes closer to 12. It was all 'vegetation' collection. Piles of bundles up tree branches and the like. Green bins to be empty (mainly lawn trimmings), but it was on a monthly cycle. Lawn trimmings sitting in a bin for 4 weeks FUCKING STINKS! It starts to decay, and even had to be emptied slowly sometimes because it could literally combust.

Was all on the Sydney Northern beaches area. 32 degrees celcius at a minumum with no cloud cover and an ocean to reflect it back at you.

My wife at the time was working night shifts motel cleaning. I had to be in bed by 10ish to try pack in 6ish hours sleep, so there were days where we just didn't see each other.

It was only 4 months, but it sucked. It's the closest thing I have to relate to your current "I have to do it, just fucking do it" situation.

It really sucks just having to keep pushing yourself, hating it, not knowing if it's amounting to anything. At the same time being in a situation where you're saying ".... but I fucking need this money! It'd be stupid to just stop because "I don't feel like it" ".

I can't really help, just try and empathize
