Firearms thread - 2020

What's your experience been like with guns and ammo first during the pandemic and now that Biden has been elected? Does anyone find it ironic that gun nuts are scared of strict gun laws, when in reality there probably won't be any, and their panic buying is actually waaaay shittier for hobbyists because all guns and ammo end up out of stock or insanely overpriced?

Also a place to talk about your collection. Currently have a CAR15 (from Windham), a CZ75 Compact, M&P Shield 9mm subcompact, and my dad's old Rossi 44spl revolver. Was looking into buying a 308 battle rifle (probably FN FAL) up until this nonsense started.

I haven't been out to the range since maybe May because the only thing that's economical to shoot right now is 22 and it's a waste of an afternoon to drive 40 minutes each way just to plink

Yo, how much is 22 right now? I don't have a rifle but they're cheap enough to buy and with the normal intermediate rounds being ungodly expensive, I think it's time to invest in one for plinking. Plus the 22 is way more based than I ever gave it credit for.

Jesus I hadn't looked in a while but even 22 is running 0.15-0.20 per round now

My friend bought a 6.5 creedmoor rifle last year and is now trying to sell it to anyone who'll buy it because it's like $1.50 per round around here and like... fuck that

I wonder what I could get for my AR. Bought for about $700 and even that was about $50-75 too high. For the right price, would be nice to let it go for a profit and wait until prices come down.

This forum would be high on the FBI's list for suspected child porn trading but almost dead last for anything involving firearms considering the majority number of commie weaklings/eurofags/ausfags who hate guns posting here. I remember having to defend stand your ground/castle doctrine laws several years back as if it's even something up for debate. Seemed like a lot of people couldn't wrap their head around the right to shoot someone for breaking into your house.

I have a bunch of air rifles/pistols and an old 12 gauge shotgun. I haven't bought shells in years because i ended up with crates of them. I hope they all still work some are from like the 60s or 70s.
Gun laws here are real shitty. I've probably whinged about it before here.

If they were stored properly, they're probably fine. My understanding is that gunpowder can lose its potency, mostly to ambient humidity, which can result in no boom or a weak boom. You should test some out or just buy fresh rounds and keep them loaded up in case someone needs to justifiably die. I don't know much about the chemistry as I don't reload or get autistic about ammo. I just buy Federal across the board for all ammo, shooting some and keeping enough to murder intruders in the event of home invasion or government collapse. Self defense is a God given right. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

The easiest and cheapest way to do this legally is buy a 9mm carbine of some kind and then purchase a binary trigger which nearly makes the gun automatic. Bump stocks are banned (I never owned one). There's probably other legal/loophole stuff but auto fire is for thugs who don't know how to shoot. Practice controlled semi auto fire.

Nah, I meant the ammo won't work or will be too weak to work.

Oh, I didn't realize you live in that place where butter knives are illegal too. Sucks, dude. It's nice waking up in America, free as a bird and, at least in my state, free to easily acquire any gun you want. Gotta get to bed where I can dream about bald eagles and shit. Later, holmes.

Yeah it's a shame. Our fun stick laws were a lot more lax than yours like one generation ago. Enjoy it while it lasts our gun crime has risen like a billion fold after we made them illegal btw.

I won't be able to buy another fire arm until April 2022. Because i got in trouble in 2015 and the background checks flag you for 7 years. I COULD theoretically buy something private party but I wanna follow all the laws. My buddy I haven't seen since college is coming to town Thanksgiving weekend so I might got skeet shooting with him at one of the ranges here in town. (There are A LOT of places to shoot here......one of the ranges is even called "a place to shoot" lol)

Did you get in trouble for something that actually bars you from owning a gun? It's basically all felonies and a short list of misdemeanors.

The other thing which is kind of bullshit is that, in PA at least, and also depending on the locality, your concealed carry permit can be rejected due to weed charges. We're a shall issue jurisdiction and I have a buddy who was turned down because of a very old possession charge. I've also heard something about getting a medical marijuana card and how it may impact on the gun transfer document - the one question toward the end refers to using drugs (weed included, since it's still federally illegal and the document is a federal one). I don't smoke weed anymore so I don't care but it's a bit ludicrous.
