do you wear a mask outside?

its the norm now in nyc to wear masks outdoors, despite there being no mandate to do so. wear them in parks and open spaces. wear them when when you're out jogging. wear them between drags of your e-cig

I get side eyed when I take my trash out without a mask on. when I'm out for a run, people cross the street to avoid me (must be how black guys feel?)

I don't understand the crazy social pressure to wear them outside. it only makes sense if you're on a crowded street. and btw I do a very good job of directing my droplets, if I have any, away from other people

is it like this in other places?

for christ, I'd just like to breathe air

No, not outside at all. I live in a rural area, there's no reason I would ever be within 10 feet of another person. Only a lunatic would wear a mask outdoors where I live. I do wear a mask when I go into a store (mostly just to avoid confrontation), but most people around here don't

I don't. I only wear masks inside, where there's very little air movement. Outside it would be harder to catch it, but I still step aside when a jogger comes and sprays saliva everywhere.

i saw a couple in the grocery store today with no masks on and guns on their hips.
it's against the law, to not have a mask on in public here.

I don't mind wearing it, but outside I don't wear one, like at the park or whatever. and sometimes I take it off at work but, only for a few moments.

i actually like it when it's cold. it may be something I do if I'm ever sick/cold, or in a crowded place..

I wear a mask where I am required to wear a mask but very few people wear a mask OUTSIDE in San Antonio (some do.) When I go down to the coast nobody wears masks outside and it's like 50/50 required to wear a mask inside.

I always wear it outside. I would even if coronavirus ended today; it got a lot cooler recently and the mask keeps my face protected from the harsh Missouri winds.

I bought a real tree hoodie the other day that has a built in gaiter(sp???) But it's never cold enough to use it here. I'll post a selfie the next time I wear it. It's still Low 60/high 80 here. We had a few days where it got down into the 40s but that only lasted 4 days. I'll use the gaiter for a facemask when I have the hoodie tho

I definitely wear masks in low-ceiling buildings. I just wear them inside, no matter if it's required or not.

I definitely don't wear one outside and frankly, when visiting stores in a nearby hick area, I sometimes don't wear a mask inside either. No one seems to care, despite signage at the doors, and I see other people without masks as well. Even during the early months of the pandemic, when PA had color phases, I took a riding trip in northwestern PA which is mountainous and rural, and was shocked to see the same anti mask behavior. Well, not "shocked" because I know white trash perpetually hates being told what to do, but just not used to that since it was the complete opposite back where I live. Wawa, for example, forced you to "order" your coffee through a worker who sat there and poured it, added cream/sugar, etc. All of the self serve stuff was shut down. They had early morning hours set for just elderly people to shop in stores.

I don't give a fuck anymore. I don't deny the science. I'm simply sick of wearing it. If I infect someone and they die, fuck them. If I get infected and die, so be it. I'm done living in fear of something with a very, very, very good survival rate, even for the elderly.

It might actually be good for the world if he dies from coronavirus.

Seriously, based on that second paragraph, you really are too retarded to be allowed to live.

The majority of people around my area don't wear them. I blame it on ignorance or the current "Fuck the totalitarian regime that wants to muzzle us!" mentality that's been spreading.

I wear mine in shops, walking past people in the street etc, but I'll take it off if I'm on my own in a fairly open area. I really only wear it because my girlfriend works in the hospital (currently in a covid bay), and I don't want to risk infecting my parents or ol' granny.

On that note, anyone else had covid-19? How was your experience with it?

Protip: wear them in shops, ESPECIALLY in flea markets. Old geezers just spraying mist everywhere in a meter wide hallway is not good. The people who don't wear masks don't need them, honestly. They already have protection because their heads are stuck too far up their asses.

This is how retardedly upset people get over the virus. The odds of you or even your elderly grandmother dying from it are very, very low... like lower than the risk of many common things you do each day. If you keep your distance, the mask thing is not a big deal. I'm not going to crowded bars. I'm walking around a large, open store. I know you've been convinced about a shitty paper mask that doesn't even work well considering when I wear one it never properly seals my nose and fogs my glasses, meaning it's effectively useless, but you and your family and the world at large will be fine, I promise.

Just to be clear, the last bit about not caring if I kill someone is hyperbole/talking shit. I don't want to be responsible for that. But I do believe the benefits of the mask are overstated, and the fact that people get violently angry or wish death on people for not wearing them is bizarre to me.

hyperbole-{A figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect,}

how is this hyperbole.

we could easily change what you said last, and you sound like "city folk".
But I do believe the benefits of the mask are understated, and the fact that people get violently angry or wish death on people for wearing them is bizarre to me.

the fact that you say you live in a "hick" area, proves to me that you're narrow-minded dude. you can't just wear a fucking paper mask while you're at a store to protect people? actually, I don't care, since you live in a "hick" area. I apparently shouldn't care about the value of any human life. So go ahead and spread the disease(since you wont know if you have it, because it can be asymptomatic).

Maybe you don't work with other people? or have any social contact though I guess?

not trying to attack you, just trying to understand what your logic behind it is. because I get tired of wearing the mask at work sometimes, but you mostly forget it's there honestly. you make it sound like someone is killing you or something.

We butt up with hick areas but actually live in a pretty affluent area ourselves. I wouldn't call myself narrow minded. Very much the opposite for the most part. I think you're reading what you want to read to make a point. I get it. It's easier.

I mean, if you can't understand how it's hyperbole after literally posting the definition, I don't know what to tell you, bro. I know English might not be the strong suit of someone who stacks boxes all day but try a little harder. It was an exaggerated "fuck it, I'm sick of the mask" statement. I probably went a little overboard making a lame joke and in retrospect wanted to walk it back because I definitely don't mean that sincerely.

More honestly, I don't want to wear the mask because I no longer think it has much value. We were actually due to stop wearing it months ago in my state but that never came to fruition, even after we reportedly flattened the curve. We have a very low infection and death rate in my county, and also a high percentage of people not wearing masks. I have plenty of interaction with others. If you've stood closer than 6 feet to someone, without a mask, or not incessantly cleaned/disinfected your hands before touching stuff in a store, you've already done more harm than me. The difference is I'm not self righteous and militant about it. If you think the mask makes a significant difference, compared to the way more important social distancing and hygiene rules, go nuts, man, but I don't.

At least several people at work and a couple people I know. All of them were sick for 2-4 days, with normal flu symptoms, and recovered without incident. In fact, one of them was sick for a day and a half and then back to it by the third day (working remotely).
