When I'm in a Discord server, I'm afraid I'll eventually just screw up what I do and just get myself banned.

That is the single lamest fear I've ever heard.

It's much worse than it sounds. If I'm banned from said server, I'd start feeling really bad about myself and would lose all motivation to do anything. I wouldn't trust anything or anyone anymore, myself included.

It has happened once before, but I'm not telling you the server I was in/got banned from. For personal reasons.

I remember how vexed I was when I would get banned from something as a kid. Even when people would rile on me in 3dmm.com I would be overly sensitive and triggered all day long (maybe that's why I'm such an asshole now.)

If I was made fun of and banned from 3dmm.com early on I would have probably been very very upset.

I still get pissed off when I get banned from fb groups or whatever. So I do understand CosmicToons.

But I wouldn't call it my "greatest fear"

CosmicToons is going to need to update his sig.

Not because it breaks sig rules, but because with having DG here, it's just no longer true in any sort of fashion.

Haha, nah dude, don’t worry. That’s a legitimate fear when you’re really really invested in some community.

You just gotta know that high-pressure communities like that where you have to struggle to fit in are usually not really good for your ego or mental health. Your actual friends would accept you the way that you are.

Elaborate Final Destination-type rube goldberg fuckups that end up with me gouging my eyes out

Slipping on something in a store and landing face first into the merchandise pegs
Missing the last step on an escalator, tripping, and shoving a starbucks straw into my eye

etc

I've gone off heights too as I've got older and i still have to deal with them sometimes but even since i was a little kid I've always thought looking up is waaaay worse than 'dont look down'
I only ever got leg wobblies from looking above me. Rollercoasters and shit where your strapped in is fine but if I'm walking on a dodgy mountain path or up really high on a machine 3 stories high that moves when you shift your weight i get the heeby jeebies for sure.
At least looking down you can see whats about destroy your legs.

My worst fear... that's a tough one.

If I had to choose, it would be dark, dingy places. I just get very unsettled and disturbed thinking that there could be some horrific creature or thing lurking in the darkness, waiting to strike.

Enslaved as one of an array of enclosed brains, undergoing everlasting pain and torture via pre-programmed simulations or exploratory, never-ending A.I. led experiments.
I'm not sure which is worse: A slew of everything-at-once always, or whole fake lifetimes with unexpected bouts.

I've thought about that before. If we're ever able to do the mind-uploading Matrix thing we could create literally the worst possible hell imaginable, maybe even beyond imagination. I have enough faith in the general goodness of man and the universe/existence that I think the opposite alternative would be more likely, but yeah that's a true hell of a possibility to be feared, maybe so much so that the promise of eternal bliss isn't even worth the risk when it comes down to the choice of whether to upload.

And also maybe if we live long enough in that scenerio we'd eventually get so bored that we'd willingly choose that. Or maybe after experiencing ultimate bliss we would never want to go back to anything like a mundane earthly type experience because it would seem similarly tortorous in comparison. So just sleeping in bliss as long as the computers are running, might as well be regular dead.
