A lot of these popular new indie games are just Garry's Mod game modes I played back in 2010. Fall Guys came from a GMOD Tower minigame, Among Us is Murder/Trouble in Terrorist Town, Valheim is Stranded, etc. Devs can only do so much before they start repeating themselves.
