Art Improvement

I am looking for some advice on drawing, i started drawing about a month ago (I draw with Autodesk Sketchbook using the Stabilizer) and also i will be making a flash animated series (Macromedia Flash Professional 8 and Autodesk Sketchbook) which was an idea that popped up in my head,

by the way, here is the art i made so far (Not very impressive).

The faces are weird, try giving them expressions maybe? Or actual facial features. Maybe some limbs too. Is the second one a cat?

Look at some pictures of cats. Don’t just pick easy ones, find ones of them walking/sitting in different positions/different angles etc. Then do a bunch of practice sketches. Don’t worry about making mistakes just draw a bunch of them until your brain is familiar with the shape and proportions of a cat. just keep hammering out sketches until you can start drawing them easily without looking at a picture.
Then if you decide to draw some weird abstract cartoon cat, you can use your knowledge of drawing real cats and then add whatever other crazy stuff you want.
Basically it just boils down to practicing a lot. Repeat the process of pictures of cats with pictures of people, cars, trees whatever. Challenge yourself
