Modern installer doesn't install v3dmm or expansions

Hello, it's me again, after being gone for a month. I am still encountering the same issue from a few months back. The title explains what my issue is. Is there any reason why this happens? I first installed 3D Movie Maker with the modern installer and it installed normally. I had tried several methods to get it to work but none of them turned out successfully, so I eventually gave up.

Bump!
So uh... any guess as to what went wrong? If there is a rule against bumping old threads then I apologize.

I’m not sure what’s going on. You did select everything when running the installer? Does the installer close after performing the install?

Yes, I did select everything and the installer did close when it was finished.

By this point, I am very close to completely giving up. Nothing I try seems to really work, and even though I checked everything (which would've just given me the base installation had I not selected the other stuff otherwise), nothing comes up. There is one method that I haven't tried yet, and that is to normally install it in Program Files as usual, then move it to my Downloads folder. For context, I am not an administrator on my PC, which means I basically can't modify any files on the Program Files/Windows folders. This is my last resort, and if this fails too then I am completely stumped.

I haven’t tested in a non-admin environment unfortunately, is it not possible for you to run this as admin? And I would try installing to program files, as this is where 3dmm would install normally.

You can always install the game/v3dmm and expansions the manual way if all else fails.

I can run it as an admin, just I may have a little trouble moving the things from Program Files to Downloads (coupled with the fact that I'm not sure if 3DMM will still function or not). It is pretty late where I live at the time of posting this message (10 PM to be exact), so I'll try it tomorrow.

On an unrelated side note, the main reason why I got back into 3DMM anyway is because I was looking at all the mods that had been posted over the years, and it seriously made me want to come back, so here I am now.

Okay, so I tried to install it in Program Files, but nothing appeared, not even the Microsoft Kids folder. I'm going to try to install it the manual way.

I tried the modern installer again, and this time it worked! Finally, I can get back to making movies and installing mods.

I’m relieved, at the same time though I apologize for all your trouble. I wrote that installer in like two days some years ago and I can’t find the source anywhere to see what was going on.

Anyhoo, I’m glad you’re able to get back into things! Welcome back!
