it's just another overblown "disease of the year century"... like West Nile, H1N1, Zika, Swine Flu, and SARS. Anyone with a brain understands that right? Boy is my face red! The infection rate is on a trajectory above 10k, though that's still not a big deal; when the media isn't talking about it anymore, that's when you start to worry

I'd rather get Coronavirus than the regular flu because the best doctors in the world will be monitoring my sickly ass

you don't really know how far it will spread. it is only just now starting to affect multiple people in Japan, it only just hit the middle east... what if it hits India or somewhere like that?

i could potentially see it hitting the 3rd option (100k-1M), but i voted for option 2

the death toll is low, but the infection rate alone can affect things that matter, like the world market

It's spreading at a faster rate than SARS did, but at a much lower chance percentage-wise of dying from it.

slowed down a lot today, but don't forget, "up to 2 weeks without symptoms"... it is still a mystery how bad this will get

I think that they will probably stop it before it does too much damage but this just lets you know the kind of things we're in for in the future

The catch? You have to stop in Wuhan, China, for six hours.

I mean they’ll probably cover your dead body with a plastic tarp, but your relatives will have to pay for the tarp.

eh.. I think that shit gets subsidized somehow. I mean I have a hard time imagining all the people that had ebola had to pay for it out of pocket.

there's no way we're paying millions of dollars to fight Ebola in Africa but if you have it and come to America... you suddenly have to pay 100,000s for it yourself if you don't have insurance. Right? Surely it would be covered under the same sort of expenditure, to some degree...

You'd think medical bills from mass shootings would be subsidized too, but you'd be wrong.

According to USAID.gov the government has given only $38 million in aid to fight ebola in the Congo... That's worth what, 500 hospitalizations?

According to Wiki, there have only been 11 cases of ebola in the US since 2014, nine of which were people from Africa or working in Africa, along with two nurses. I seriously doubt any of these people didn't have some kind of private coverage

Has there been an instance in the past forty years where the government stepped in and decided to cover uninsured people for one specific illness?? Why would they do that? The free market's got it covered!
