can't import sound or record sound

for some reason, i can't record sound or import sound on 3dmm.
i'm using the wine port on my mac. i don't know if y'all would be able to help me, because i'm pretty sure most of you run windows, and i'm on a mac.
i did try using it on my windows computer, but it didn't work properly.
if you can't help me, then that's fine. thank you for taking the time to read this!

I wonder if mac records to a different format other than Wav. I don't use mac so I can't troubleshoot this.

the file format might be too high quality for 3DMM to downsample, usually exporting the sound to signed 16-bit PCM is good enough.

to import sounds, you can try converting it to a WAV file.exemple:sounds of half-life
of me,it worked on the sound effects.

I'm using the Wine port as well, and I'm having the exact same problem as ThreeDeeTrey. And I tried your solutions, but they don't seem to work, I keep getting the error. I tried converting them to signed 16-bit PCM like Broken Pencil suggested, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be much appreciated!

Edit: And about recording, it works perfectly fine in the thing (after allowing the program to use the microphone), but then when I click okay, I just get the stupid error.

No rush, since it's like a month away, but I'm working on an entry for Ding Dong's 3D Movie Maker Festival, and I'm much rather do the voices myself than having to resort to the word boxes.

Also, is anyone else that uses the wineskin version on Mac affected by this?

I'm having the same problem. I can't record audio or import my own wav files either. I'm getting the same error message.
