Awesome stuff! I'm having trouble compiling and running this. I'll write up a github issue.

For lipsyncing, it would require either different head models for a group of phonemes, or different textures that swap out for the mouth part of the actor.

You would have to manually choose the phoneme that matches the dialogue on that frame.

It is not a non-trivial feature, and is dependent on the model makers adding support in their models

Its been a while since I saw this forum. I applaud your ability to want to overcome this project. Srsly tho, great job!

A few things thatd be neat to add is a way to group objects together to make animating with the 3D shapes much more organized. And maybe implement a menu for animating too.

Can someone make a list of all the failed prior projects like this before?

On the cusp of a bronze age I want some records

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been silently pushing new code to Github, but nothing I've done so far is interesting enough to be made into a post.

But I wanted to say that I really appreciate all of your support this past month. It means a lot to me, and I just hope I can get to a point where I'll actually have something to show off with a screenshot or video.

This looks awesome! Can't wait to use it!

Will there be a feature to cut frames in-between scenes?

Hey guys! First of all, thank you so much for your kind donations and support I've received again this month. Secondly, I'll be getting married in a couple of days (the 29th) and we'll be on our honeymoon the week following. I wanted to let you know that I'm currently taking some time off and I won't be very active until I return home from our trip.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great 4th of July, and I'll see you soon! 👋

Hey, nice! How was it? Any updates on Open3DMM? I'm really glad that you're newly wed!

Thanks guys! It was awesome, we stayed in a cabin in Tennessee, had some free alcohol tastings, seen a few live shows, we had an all around blast haha.

Since I've been back I am reversing more structures in the GUI so I can port the whole game to another engine, like OpenGL. Once I do this I will make the first real release so everyone can play around with it. I can't say how much longer that will be. Every day I'm chipping away more and more native code though. We'll get there!

Sorry! Pretty much the same story as before, but I'm going to make a release that has general fixes (jumping cursor, etc.) just so I can see if the program works on everyone's machines. There will be no graphical updates, those are still post poned until I work out the GUI.

Alright, here is something you can all dabble with: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ag100pxGftw_kfpl...muCQQ?e=D9dsgC.

Features:

- Cursor no longer jumps around
- Splash screen is skipped (really loud MIDI still plays)
- Advancing the timeline using left and right arrow keys, holding CTRL adds more frames
- Frame and scene scrubbing, movie updates while you drag the sliders around

It isn't much but I hope those little features are at least somewhat helpful in the meantime, while I continue the deep dive reversing this thing.

Haha, I like that the MIDI is still everpresent. The scrubbing is a great addition. Keep us updated!

Just a heads up, this is currently compatible with the US version only for now. Jayrod is aware of this, but if anyone is having problems running it, that may be the issue.

Does it work properly with a mounted ISO? My notebook doesn't have a CD/DVD slot.

I keep getting this error:

Does it expect a specific drive letter?

edit: nevermind im stupid

If you get the link to the new one it has the ability to go through frames using the arrow keys, and there's talks of implementing obj imports and skeleton implementation
