Objects will skip frames when using the drag tool

Hey all, recently rediscovered this amazing piece of software. Great to see this community still active.

I reinstalled 3dmm and v3dmm but I seem to have this issue where if I use the drag tool and move an object around it will 'skip' or 'jump' in space and it's not smooth at all. It's not game breaking but it's quite annoying when I want to accurately place an object somewhere.

I've included a video here to showcase my issue better. Not sure if 'skipping frames' is the correct term, apologies if it isn't.

I'm running this on windows 10 at 1440p. Compatibility mode is set to win XP, and I've tried nearly every combination of the check boxes given. Anyone have similar issues or solutions?

Thanks

I have read before this is an issue in Windows 10 (something I also see in my install) but I haven't seen any solution to it.

As far as I know, the only way to solve this problem is a Virtualbox that runs just about any Windows below 10, and you use 3dmm there. If your computer can't handle it, then you got to deal with it.

I think you could even use a Windows 10 VM if it's a pre-Creator's Update version. that's what introduced the problem.

There ended up being too many issues with the virtual machine so I switched back to native Windows 10.

I used a virtual box with windows 7 - sound would lag behind after a while. Not a big deal, the skipping is annoying but I just use the arrow keys.

Create your movie in the Virtual Box - play/convert them in Windows 10
