cant annotate songs
on some playlsits i want to write something about each song. cant do it. how much would it cost them to store some text from paying customers on their servers
i wanna write abotu what store i just heard this song in. hey i can put it in the playlist description field. oh wait that's limited to 300 characters.

no mini player
the spotify window is huge. i dont want to look at it and so i minimize it as soon as possible but then i don't know what song is playing and it takes longer to pause. many people have made their own miniplayer exe files you could run like this which is perfect

but it broke after an update (a phrase thatll appear many times in this thread)

why isnt there a mini player option like winamp has had since 1997 or like itunes has had since the early 00s

thread requesting it on their forums has been going since 2012

I've never used Spotify. Seems to me like everything I want is on either Bandcamp or Youtube. What are its advantages over those?

Spotify has an incredible catalogue of music, and they do have a good amount of shit that isn't on YouTube. And a big advantage for me is it's worth the 10$ a month just to have it playing minimized on my phone, which isn't an option with YouTube. The Spotify widget on Android is useless.

Also, I've noticed sometimes Spotify will randomly pause or skip to the next song. At first I thought it was just this phone's Google assistant fucking up and popping up more than it should which would cause Spotify to fuck up. But now I think I got this Google assistant shit mostly disabled and Spotify is still skipping or pausing sometimes. Reallllly irritating.

if you expand spotify to be wide enough, it will pop out a large bar that you cannot close, taking up the right side of your screen, for "See what your friends are playing". so, there is a maximum range of width that the spotify window can be before you start wasting tons of screen space.

edit: Nick Tonic just solved this problem, its a setting in a place i never noticed

[my left hand is under my chin (contemplative) & i dont want to move it]

i only want to listen to Spider and then stop!! silence

so i doubleclick Spider and it is playing. good – playing what i want with two clicks (or one click on the track’s play button)

but if i go to the

queue screen, you can see all the tracks on the album after Spider are going to play next

i just want to hear Spider and now i’m saddled with thirteen more tracks

there is no escape now

left hand under chin / right hand on mouse

unless you individually right click and remove each of the thirteen upcoming tracks

What a bunch if bullshit. Try importing it to 3dmm and add the sound to Patrick doing a karate kick animation and im pretty sure its less clicks overall.

Bumping this thread for something that is bugging me recently. I wish I could HIDE the big album art. When I am in the gym and listening to music with a suggestive album cover I don't want everybody thinking I'm looking at pictures of chicks in bikinis or crazy bloody satanic shit. I also don't like their lack of support. Its like facebook where they're just so big they know you don't really have any other option so their customer support is just a big forum of users talking to eachother about how they want a feature added.
That being said....I really do feel like it is worth $10 a month. I tried amazon prime music for a while and it didn't have as good of a selection and buffered more.
