So I've been doing vocal covers for just over a year

I haven't really shown them to many people, just some family and friends. They're a little messy in places - I couldn't get instrumentals for any of the songs I wanted to do, so just had to sing over the originals. I'm not 100% happy with any of them, but I have had some good responses. If anyone's interested, you're welcome to check em out:

They're mostly little folk/acoustic tunes, and a few pop. There's also a duet I did with my housemate. But yeah, I've never really talked music much with people on here so would be interesting to hear from the few that are still around

No Kiss From A Rose???

I don't know any of these original songs so I can't give any criticism but Build That Wall sounds nice.

Edit: I listened to the rest of this, it was nice! I forgot what I was listening to and thought I was just listening to some random British indie musician.

Hey Slade, these are pretty good. have you considered teaming up with a guitar player so you wouldnt have to just sing over the original recording? most of these wouldn't be difficult to play at all.

i didnt know any of these songs either, so you could have just lied and said you were a folk singer and those were original arrangements.

anyway you have a nice voice. sort of a light ethereal tone, reminds me a little of elliott smith. what kind of microphone are you using?

Thanks guys <3 If you like Build That Wall, I'd check out the Bastion soundtrack which it's from. It's bloody good.

Christo: Thank ye kindly! Yeah I've thought about it but my motivation comes and goes in seconds so it'd be difficult to coordinate with someone. And a lot of the time I sound fucking terrible - it's really hit and miss. At the moment it's just an occasional fun little side thing, I don't take it too seriously.

My mic's a Blue Snowball something or other. You can tell I haven't quite got the mastering down - 's' sounds have quite a hiss on them, etc. I'm doing it all in Audacity though so I don't ever expect studio quality.
