This stuff looks really impressive! I remember watching the first movie, and being blown away by the animation. It would be awesome if you released the VMM of this.

Some really exceptional 2D animation in this. By the way, if you add a screenshot, your movie will appear randomly in the showcase on the front page for a while.

Great job.

That's probably a good sign if the owner of the website (Space Goat) gave your movie a 90. Keep up the awesome animation!

Thank you. The video you see has been combined from 7 .vmm files, from which the largest has 32 MB. To upload them i would need to upload also the .vxp expansions, and there are more or less 2000 of them.
I don't know where precisely i could upload them for you to make you be able run the vmms.

You do not need to upload the vxp's, as when you open the movie they are automatically installed.

You mean that a .vmm file contains vxps already? As i remember few times i accidentally deleted some vxp from the hard drive and v3dmm was showing an error. Doesn't it mean that vmm is useless without its vxps on the hard drive?

Yes, .vmm files contain all the .vxps you have activated in v3dmm when you save, even if they're not used anywhere in the movie. That's why it's important to deactivate any expansions that you didn't use in the movie - you can end up with massive file sizes otherwise.

I'm not sure why you were getting an error, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't from deleting .vxps. To test, I just deleted my entire expansions folder and then ran a bunch of movies that used the deleted expansions without any problems. All the missing expansions just reinstalled automatically from the .vmm file. It's possible the issue was actually something else like a .vxp shortname conflict.

Wow, some really cool animation here, good job. The style reminds me of WarioWare or something!

Glad to see a new movie in the showcase that's well-made.

Awesome movie. The scene zooming out of the prison cell into the hallway is really impressive.

Everything works fine. There are a shit ton of techniques in here that I've not seen in any other movie, like using textures for body parts, and even straight up scenes.

Oh man. This was amazing. Best new movie in years. I love it when some outsider shows up out of the blue with a movie that's like nothing we've ever seen before (bonus points if they don't end up being Lord Raidis). The only thing I can think of that even tried these sorts of 2D background effects was this, and this movie blows that one out of the water in terms of complexity and quality. The whole thing was amazingly cinematic and well done too. Great job! I'll be watching the other parts soon. If I were you I'd go ahead and release each one separately though, especially if they're all as big and complex as this one - way more people will see them that way.

Goro played around with a similar 2D animation approach back in the day too (see Radio Flyer and Spaceman Carl as examples), but I agree with you, there are definitely some new techniques demonstrated masterfully here.

not since mean bread or HMC's stickman movie (holy shit that was over ten years ago now) have i seen such an interesting blend of 2D animation with 3DMM. the way you breathe more life into the characters with their facial expressions and movement is just incredible. the film in a sense of scenery design looked good but not in my opinion that great but the exceptional way of presenting it is definitely to be commended. i dunno, maybe it's just how MS painty the backgrounds looked, i found it a little distracting sometimes. my few nitpicks aside though this is a fantastic piece of work that shows there are still creative new ways to make 3DMM movies. well done!

this is only from watching the first part btw, perhaps consider youtubing the rest?

yeah i dont know anything about how the expansion packs work, so i really don't know how much technical skill is required to do the 2D animation or how it was done, so i'm very out of my element on all that stuff.

but if this is all new stuff, then that's awesome, and it's nice to see innovation here

from my perspective, i just liked it as a short movie, period.

my only criticism is that it didn't make any sense in the scene with the kid, outside the jail. but that's pretty minor

he also posted 11 more in this thread. but yeah it'd be great if you could youtube and properly release those ones too, especially since you used a bunch of really bad .vxp shortnames like "100"

Hi, the 11 parts i posted in this thread make the whole movie i posted YT link to in the original post (Escape for revenge).

"Bank Robbery" Bobby Swisha posted link to is on YT since 2011, yet i haven't posted its .3mm file nowhere till yesterday on this forum.

I have another movie about Plane Hijack. It's on YT since 2012, yet its .vmm file has been damaged somehow.

Whole story chronologically is/will be:

1. Escape for Revenge vol. 1 (finished)
2. Escape for Revenge vol. 2 (not begun yet)
3. Bank Robbery/ Napad na Bank (finished)
4. Plane Hijack/ Uprowadzenie Samolotu (finished)

I must say Plane Hijack/ Uprowadzenie Samolotu is kinda black sheep amongst these. I create it purely for shits and giggles. Bank Robber dies there in uniquely ridiculous way. You can find it on YT if you haven't seen that yet. I plan to change its story in Escape for Revenge vol. 2, or in another movie.

Again thanks for so positive comments
