game of thrones remix (seasons 1 and 2)

here is my latest video remix.

this took me way longer to make than my previous vids, but i learned a lot of stuff about both music and video. has more frame-by-frame editing than it probably looks like it does.

my favorite part is Robert laughing at himself through Half Man. edit: also, i'm happy with the transition between the 2 completely different songs (explosion -> bass slide up a step). i was set on having them as 2 separate vids but it turned out alright

full screen title flashing will annoy some. oh well! i like it and kept it knowing this. each time it flashes, something about video behind it changes. and of course its tied to the loudest sample.

video overall is kinda dark. just happens to be that almost every sample i used was from a dark scene. also think i fucked something up with the chosen color scale early in the process. not fixing that now.

hahaha fucking awesome. the "half-man!" and rap at the end are the best bits

didn't mind the title flashing at all

by the way you should post this on facebook from your placeboing account, it deserves to go viral on there from your account, not by people ripping it and putting it on like the BB one

yeah that is true. ugh i don't wanna split views though. i'd rather just takedown anyone that rips it. but thats probably tough to keep up with.

also fucking youtube is reverting to the darker colors all of a sudden. this makes no sense.
edit: ok youtube's "enhancement" thing kinda fixed it. now its really high-contrast but whatever. as long as its not so dark.

ok i put it on my facebook. thanks for reminding me, i basically abandoned the FB.

i dont think this video will go viral. i think it will do about the same as BB 1+2 that i made (3-5 did many times better). i really think people just care less because it involves older seasons. also GoT isn't on air right now. i could have used a different title + timing but i don't care too much

same quality as the last BB remix
title screen flashing didn't bother me

I feel like it has less replay-ability (at least as an mp3) though because you spent more time making music out of sound effects instead of popular dialogue.

I like how you rhymed dialogue at the end. must have been a pain.

great as always

lol Tuna

thanks guys

rhymed dialog didn't take too much work compared to the rest really. just searching through closed captioning. and i agree, i did a lot more sound effect remixing which is prob less replayability for most

it's fun, it's like you played with a bunch of different styles. I give you mad credit for trying something new.

Was this a step out of your usual comfort zone?

Definitely spotted the editing, but I edit, so I'm always looking. Glad you're going the extra mile and adding these visual touches.

yeah it was definitely something different for me. especially the ending, which was supposed to just be a beat for a separate project, but once i put some rhyming vocal samples on it i realized how well it could work

I definitely think doing more raps with show dialogue is something that would prove popular in the future (if you wanna go that route)

pretty good. I don't watch GoT so I don't know if I didn't like it as much because of that. I liked the beginning drum "sword" chant part.

You should just make a song of people laughing from various shows.

This is awesome as always, Chris. Shared it with friends who are all super impressed too. Loving the Robert and Robin Arryn parts in particular. The laughing is perfection.

Not only did he create a fairly fun, totally danceable tune with scenes and auto-tuned bits of dialogue—he also managed to make it all rhyme. I mean, could there be anything more impressive?

Lohr’s been doing this sort of thing for awhile now: most noticeably with his Breaking Bad iterations (which are also really cool and worth a listen, because who doesn’t want to dance to Jesse Pinkman and The One Who Knocks, amirite?). We can only imagine how long it must take for him to compile enough lines of dialogue into one cohesive, rhyme-y song unit.

But we can’t help but wonder if George R.R. Martin would approve of this creative take—or if he’d just add Lohr to his blank page (gulp).
