Less Unhappy - My New Web Series

I've just started a new weekly web series now that Ching and Wagner Saw Some Movies is over, thought some of you might possibly be interested in taking a look. Any feedback is appreciated.

That was really well-done. I lol'd at the I like my toilet paper cold . Cool t-shirt, too. I wish the episode was longer. The filming outside of the car could've been better. I don't know how, though, it's a tricky thing to film.

haha i liked the last line. i think the timing could be improved. parts of it seemed a little slow and some parts seemed rushed, especially towards the end.

There was originally more to the episode, but we want to keep them under three minutes and weren't crazy about some of the other stuff, so the ending probably feels rushed because of that.

I think the next episode is a bit more story-driven and also a lot darker. Hopefully it works.

I don't think the woman in this is very funny. I don't know what it is, but every single line she says seems very forced and acted to me, and it sort of throws off the feel of the show. Like she just has no delivery, she reads these lines as if she's not entirely sure who her character is. How many takes do most of these take? It seems like you guys are just going with the first take on all of these.

It also feels like nothing about her character is established. Ok so she keeps her stuff in weird places in her apartment and she's negative compared to your character. But like, there is like no character building or anything with her, she's just sort of there as a character to comment on what your character says/does and it feels like that's not enough. She needs like some sort of story of her own, like why should I care about her?

I thought the ending to the first one was really awkward. The second ending was kind of awkward too, but at least there was that last shot that sort of split it up.

I dunno. Basically I want there to be more to her character. Like she should have established her character before yours, imo, since you seem to have a much easier time doing it.

Also Jeff Ching better be in episode 3 or I might stop watching.

We're working on developing her character more, but we're interested in a character with no redeeming qualities who has no reason to be the way she is. So it's a matter of properly going into that. We're doing thirteen episodes so we'll have time even if they are short.

We actually do quite a bit of takes and usually go with the last one as we feel we have it by then. Still working on the process. It's difficult as I'm doing all the audio, video, and lighting on top of directing and acting. So her performance is on me as much as it's on her and we're working on getting both of us up to another level. That said, I feel she's better than me in all of these. It seems everyone I talk to who watches these thinks one of us is giving a much worse performance, but that switches from person to person which I find interested/strange.

I completely agree with you about the awkwardness of the first episode's ending. What did you find awkward in episode two's end?

Also, Jeff Ching is not signed on to guest star, apologies.

Well I mean she's already letting your character stay with her, so that's one major redeeming quality right off the bat

This is turning out to be a pretty cool series. I like the dark humor. I really like the scene where you two are eating fries in front of the fries place.

haha these rule! took me a couple episode to warm up to the style of humor, but i really dig it now. episode 6 was my favorite so far. hope you keep making more.

Haha thanks for watching! It's funny how out of touch Courtney and I seem to be. We hated ep. 6 so much affterwards, we were contemplating not releasing it. But a bunch of people said it was their favourite.

And one of my favourites was ep. 2 and no one seems to care for that one too much.
