I've made another game review video, holy shit

I should maybe just make a megathread for these rather than keep making new threads every time?

As always, criticism is really useful so go nuts. It's pretty long as I've squeezed three games into one. The logic was that two of the games weren't big enough to warrant individual videos but a review of just two (unrelated) games seemed like a weird number, so I tried to force a third one in there too.

Came here looking for this thread!

Definitely enjoyed this, it's still on the same level as your previous ones, just a little longer(?)
I quite like the length these have been, but I'm wondering if you should experiment with putting out short ones? Like maybe set yourself a really short time and play around with that and if it doesn't work, just carry on as you are

Yeah, it's my longest by about five minutes and I had to cut out plenty just to get it that short, so I don't think I'll be doing another triple pack for a while.

I definitely ought to try one or two shorter episodes because, damn, these take so long to write and edit so if I could cut the duration by like 50% then that would be super handy and I could pump them out much quicker. Glad to hear you enjoyed this though, and were able to power through to the end!

I love your reviews! Gonna watch them nowwww!
I owned Danger Zone myself and jeez.. mine came along with a few other games in which you played some sort of Android things or people in robot-esque suits. THOSE SUCKED BALLS. Pseudo platformers, really linear.

Thanks dude! Haha yeah, that was probably Jurassic Park: Dino Defender if it looked anything like 19:37-19:43. It was a game that was made in parallel with Danger Zone, which is why all the art assets in DZ are of different styles because they recycled a bunch of the ones from DD but also made some new stuff. I never played it but I've seen clips online. It looks horrendous.

Yeah I used to eat tons of cereals back then (like any good kid did :3) and I have a TON of games from them, including some Disney Atlantis adventure game demo and some YOCO Frozen Yogurt game set - along with Jurrassic Park games of course... and tons of Kellogs related characters. I have them all around somewhere but I hated almost every single one of them. They came in simple cardboard sleeves which I cut up myself to fit into proper CD cases which my dad gave me. GREAT MEMORIES

The JP games probably were in those because Jurrassic Park 3 was coming out at the time? Perhaps...

Oh man, I remember World Explorer. Good video! Your voice is very pleasant to listen to, and the jokes were pretty good. I'd definitely watch more videos like these, which is more than I could say for 99.9% of game reviewers on Youtube.

Not as good as your others. I think it's because you're covering too many games.

What I find funny about old games reviews is the thought of an adult playing a kid's game that no one is going to play, yet he is still picking apart the smallest details and is actually seriously reviewing the game. It's pointless and that's what makes it funny. With this review, I felt you kind of rushed them because there are so many games, so that element of funniness wasn't there.

Thanks man (and everyone else). These are lovely comments :3

Hey Omnirom, just wanna say how much I like the fact that you usually give me some constructive criticism. It's genuinely very helpful, especially right now while I'm still trying to work out the best format.

And yeah, I think the general consensus from other people (and something I was also thinking, even during the writing phase) is that multiple games in one review doesn't really work as well. As I said in the OP, I initially wanted to do Explorer and Animaniacs but felt they weren't big enough for a video each, but it seemed weird to have two unrelated games in one review, so I shoved a third one in there and turned it into a "HERE ARE MY CHILDHOOD GAMES" thing.

I think I'll avoid the whole idea of multiple games for a while now though because it was really rushed and I missed out lots of opportunity for fun bits. Thanks dude!
