Thanks James. I added another part onto it, probably could still use a bit of tweaking/layering but i'll just update it for now.

oops forgot to cut the silence at the end

nice. don't be afraid to go all-in on the sampling. seems most/all of your cuts are on 8th notes. can throw in some 16th note quick things even on a chill beat, can make it feel looser. for example the 2-time repeat at 0:11, with all samples hitting on 8ths it can start to feel stiff.

good advice, I tweaked it a bit, not sure if this is what you had in mind. I added a middle section that focuses mostly on 16th notes, the ending part I haven't edited yet

man the sampling is dope as hell but I really don't like the drum beat I think it's the off-beat open hi-hat that gives it like a disco vibe that totally ruins it for me

I realize this sounds really negative but I genuinely love everything except the drums great stuff!

Ahah, fair enough, thanks for the input. sampling drums is sort of a weakness of mine, in this case I used a pre existing loop. Normally I'd use my keyboard and record drums but I'm away from home for a while. Do you have any random drum recordings or ones that might be good to sample from?
