A.) The wordpad method. Save an image as .raw (you'll need photoshop) and remove the "image header" / set header to 0 (cba to go into why just do it), make a note of the dimensions, open it in wordpad (not word, not notepad, wordpad), allow it to convert (v.badly) the image to a kind of code. HxD Hex Editor download this, make a copy of your image then also make a copy of that because shit happens. open it up in hex editor (as easy as it sounds) and it will have converted the image into lots of little bits of numbers and letters you can actually adjust. just fuck around with the code. make that A6 an a5 and save. take a look at the image. it's gone black has it? that'll happen. put that back to a6. or maybe make it b6? it's broken is it? that'll happen. move to the next bit. make that 77 an f7. great now everything is slightly more purple than before. save. scroll down randomly. make that C2 an AA and oh wow shit sweet what the hell is that effect? ok let's play with this little bit for a while. etc. etc.

honestly if you're doing this it may help to actually learn the binary format of these images so that you know what will happen

i dunno what image format you're using but msg me on facebook or something if you want guidance padowan

This. I think if Cubert learned some simple programming in Python or something (if he doesn't know any already) he could be exposed to all kinds of cool things to use for effects like that. Especially applying fast Fourier transform filters and things like that.
