New Host and Possible Forum Upgrades - Page 3

Seeing as how people, particularly young people, still find 3dmm and this site and register here I feel kind of weird about posting.
If kids, for example browse The Cavalcade or the Testing Forum and their parents see that sort of stuff being posted there it could turn out WEIRD for them and maybe even us.

It would feel safer if those non-3dmm related sub-forums were hidden by default to new Users unless some condition is met (Dunno, manual activation or time lock?)
That way we don't have to warn people like him from not understanding this place.
I don't know. I feel like something should be done in that direction.
Sorry if I'm just thinking tired/drunk whatever right now.

A few updates:

The site was successfully migrated to my host's new datacenter this past month. I don't have any stats, but my initial impressions are that the site is loading faster. Performance actually seemed to improve even before we moved, likely because larger sites got migrated before us, reducing the work load on the old server. The site seems to be performing well now.
I'm still undecided on whether to switch to a VPS or stick with shared hosting. I yearn for the freedom and flexibility that you get with a VPS, but I also worry slightly about the maintenance responsibilities that come with it. I don't want a second job.
I bought a XenForo license yesterday. My goal is to have us off vBulletin by the end of the year.

man those aren't updates those are under the hub tinkerings. You wanna impress us give us something we can see, like a new zebra / leopardskin theme or a button at the top of each page that drops balloons we can burst for '3dmm party points'

That reminds me, if I can ever manage to upgrade to Xenforo, it will use responsive design for improved UX on mobile phone devices. This is something that mostly comes for free with that newer framework.
