The first minute is genius IMO, especially Hank at the start going "boo boo boo boo boo. eh!"

very very cool

a question i have always wondered when watching videos like this,

you know how you have all these specific clips you used such as jesse slapping the lab equipment / hank knocking on the desk etc. , how do you remember where to find those clips and to use them etc.?
do you watch through the series and take notes or something?

i went through every episode while mashing the fast-forward-30sec button. if it landed on a good sound i FRAPSd it. i have to record it using something like FRAPS because i can't just edit straight from the original video, i have to compile my own video of interesting sounds first which i use to remix. i hate going through and recording these clips, it sounds fun at first but its so tedious. its much easier to do a movie which is only 2 hours long vs 3 seasons of a show that was what, 30 hours or something. i doubt i ever try to do a show this long again unless i do 1 remix per season, all because of this setup process.

I really dig the way you get percussion from the video. Most people just autotune and leave it at that. Some of the best parts are just people knocking on stuff.

oh that reminds me, is there one specific clip (for example the forklift) that the key of the song is based around after you started with it, or did you start with the tune just randomly messing around with all kinds of parts then transposing everything else to match? I'm interested in hearing you put these together

I'm glad you all like it

i pick the key by whatever clip i happen to start with. hank's opening decided the key on this, and i think "my daddy and my mommy" decided the tempo as it was the first clip used. once the key/tempo has been decided i have to not use some clips that i originally wanted to use, like skinny pete playing piano (would have needed +/- 6 transposition, so it sounded bad). i think the forklift was already in-key by chance.

yeah its interesting how much faster this one was. other one took over a year. no i don't make money from my channel, i can't monetize stuff with copyright. i mostly hope i get more work with companies as they see me make popular stuff. i want to make some videos with original music with me playing guitar/bass etc, sell the tracks on itunes and monetize the vids. might do that next. making remix vids helps to get the followers for when i do make monetized videos though.
