Ching and Wagner Saw some movies episode 3

Episode 3 of my intoxicated movie review show with Warren Wagner is now up. We review Gravity, Captain, Philips, Thor: The Dark World, and Enough Said and we pick our favorite James Gandolfini movie. The Thor review is easily the funniest of the bunch. I hope you guys enjoy.

Watched till Wagner interrupted the reviews to check his text message. That just sends a message that the text message is more important than the review. Ching is enjoyable to listen to, and makes good comments, yet still, they are not unique or not what every other reviewer says. People enjoy hearing from certain reviewers because they provide very unique, insightful criticisms. Red Letter Media's star wars ep 1 review comes to mind. I like how seriously Ching takes the show though, he saves it.

edit: like when Ching says he wishes that Gravity's director had more confidence to make the movie unique, not a safe cliche, that was interesting.

Edit2: I should say, most of what I heard is not particularly unique points. The talk of Gravity getting bad after 2nd half, heard it. And the whole talk of Tom Hanks with the yellow shirt, the situation isn't explained, so people who haven't seen the movie have no idea what you're talking about. I have to say, I like the show though.

Thanks Omnirom. I agree with your criticisms. I really want to strive to have original criticisms, and I want to speak way more fluidly without the long pauses in between. I feel like all my best stuff is said when I'm interacting with Warren. When it's just me talking into the camera is what I still need to work on the most. I'm going to work on being more brief, concise, and having stuff to say that others haven't said.

As for the texting bit, part of the humor of the show is how ghetto and unprofessional it is. Warren getting texts has always opened an opportunity for me to insult his homosexuality. If it was a more professional show it would definitely not be acceptable, but for now we think that the ghettoness of it is part of its charm.

I appreciate you really taking your time to make very detailed comments.

Haha @ the chips. Ok, I like how it showed you guys getting fucked up this time. Or maybe it did in the other ones too, but I like how you pointed it out/talked about it in the intro. I think it would actually be great if you guys were actually reviewing movies AS you were getting fucked up. I honestly think that's a better idea.. Although I guess it wouldn't be the same clash of stoned vs. drunk. I don't know. It would also be cool to see you guys maybe try to smoke out of a vaporizer and maybe have Warren drink something other than what he usually drinks (?) and like... I don't know. I mean I don't want it to turn into a show where you guys review weed and alcohol.. Actually you know what, maybe that's a dumb idea altogether.

This is also the first episode where I actually cared about the movies being reviewed cause I actually wanted to see some of these.

Hahaha I love how you go for a chip when Warren starts talking. You got this whole "Is it going to interrupt his train of thought if I grab a chip? Fuck it I'm already doing it, I'm going to go for it!! Oh good, it didn't disrupt it, I'm going to eat a few more." It's great how stoned you got.

The thing I did'nt really care for was you guys describing stuff from the movies.. like when Warren discusses what happens in the first 40 minutes of Captain Phillips after saying he didn't read anything about it beforehand.. That just made me want to skip that part cus it made me want to see it myself without knowing too. MAybe thats just the nature of reviews though??

I need to make BR Saw Ching and Wagner's Reviews Episode 1

Warren's review of Thor 2 is great. I also like how he punches you for your review of the Gandolfini flick.

That would be fucking awesome!!

Boris, you always have very helpful criticisms, and I really appreciate it. Warren has talked to me about smoking out of a bong for the show which I do agree makes for a better visual than a joint. Unfortunately, I do despise smoking bongs. I find it incredibly harsh on my throat, and I don't enjoy the coughing fits either. The last time I did, my throat wouldn't stop burning and I was drinking excessive amounts of water. I do know that bongs are a purer way of smoking weed, but I like the comfortable familiarity of joints. Vaporizers...I don't know. I've tried em and never gotten high off of them.

I've spoken to Warren about maybe drinking out of a beer funnel or hat for a future episode which he might do. Or maybe he should drink gayer stuff like Piña coladas.

As for the reviews, it's hard to judge how much of the movie we should give away or what we might be spoiling. I did make a big mistake once of giving away the ending to Insidious 1, but that was editted out. Sometimes I just read other reviews and judge by how much professional critics give away in their reviews.

I'll admit this now...I tried to make it look like his punches didn't bother me, but my arm actually was in pain for the next few days after the episode. I really need to put on more muscle.

Haha, I was definitely surprised by how readily you were willing to get punched. Also by how hard he hit you. Getting punched hard like that definitely doesn't hurt as much right away as later on.
