New drawing

In colors. A bit boring, as usual. My first post here in ages.

The deer is very well done, and I like how the water blends into the sky. The boat feels like it's really floating.

But the trees blend into the ground too much. I'd make them more green and less yellow. Also, The mountains should be less defined, to make them feel farther away.

But over all I really like it.

I really like the dock for some reason.

it looks nice, but the perspective hurts my brain. there are lots of things that look wrong with it.

The coloring is fantastic. I'm with Taco on the perspective, though I didn't really notice it until I looked closer.

Awesome. I think you'd make a wonderful charcoal/pastel artist

yes, the perspective is off. if the dock is at eye level then so should the barn be.

what

I think the only thing that strikes me as being out of perspective is the dock itself. You should be able to see the surface of it.

But very nice drawing. Great work!

There are actually like a dozen things wrong with the perspective, but I'd look like a butthole if I pointed them all out.

The house is the chief offender.

Yeah. Also, the trees closest to the viewer are smaller than the ones near the house. And the deer is about 1 foot tall. and Neo dies

The main thing I saw was that the perspective on the trees doesn't change. They are all shown as different sizes of the same perspective

Thanks for all the comments, guys. The whole perspective-thing will hopefully come with some more practice. I can see what you mean about the trees aswell, which is something I'll try to get right next time.

you should try drawing a few sketches with vanishing points. it'll help you be able to guess at the perspective better.
http://www.ider.herts.ac.uk/school/c...rspective.html

Also, remember that the eye level or horizon should be a constant height. In your picture, the horizon goes through the doorknob on the front door, so the eye level should be just under 3 feet off the ground. The top of the tree on the far left is also at the horizon, so that tree would only be about 3 feet tall, and so on...
