My latest hobby/job on the side

So, I'm almost finished my Iron Man costume and just need to make a few small pieces and fiber glass/spray paint the lot. I figured, instead of spending college money (which I can use for tattoos or the xbox one) I'd start making money myself. My most recent idea was custom shoes, after researching a bit and checking out other peoples stuff - I've started and it's going alright. The image I've uploaded is my first attempt (for myself) and everyone I know is loving them, and I've been asked to make a lot more. I figure I'd make a couple of pairs for friends and family, get people noticing then start selling them on ETSY.com, which is a fairly decent page for selling handmade stuff and starting up a business. I'm obviously not hoping to get big with this, but I know I can sell them for between £30-60 if the standard is good, which means if I make 20 pairs a week (40 hours of work) I can make around £1k.

Ignore the little yellow piece sticking out at the front of the shoe (near the laces), I've cut that out so it's neater now.

As of tomorrow, when the 8 pairs or so of new shoes I've ordered arrive, I have to make a Breaking Bad pair for my little brother.. They will consist of the opening credits green background and chemistry letters/symbols (Excuse me, I have no idea what they are called, never studied chemistry), the white Breaking Bad title/logo on one side and a neat image of Walt and Jessie in their yellow boiler/has-mat suits. He seems to think they'll look good, and if I can make them the way I'm hoping to, I think they will to.

What do you guys think?

you're not gonna be able to sell anything on etsy that uses copyrighted characters/images like the one in your post or the breaking bad one, but this seems like a cool idea in general

People do it all the time on etsy, I've actually bought a couple of marvel t-shirts from people that have been handmade, though they looked kind of shitty when I got them. Either etsy or I start through facebook then make a webpage.

I don't think I'd wear those. It's just a bunch of images pasted together. I hate that. The effort of drawing something, even if it looks shitty, is better than a bunch of tiny images pasted together.

the way the images pasted together looks is ok, i wouldnt wear it but as a poster or whatever it looks cool, but man i could never sell something copyrighted like this and feel ok with it
