Biggest event in 3dmm history.

Im sorry is it just me, what went wrong here? Was it because it was different, was it because I compiled it? I know im just bitching right now but damn, I think this deserves a bit more attention. This movie does not deserve 4 stars! Seriously, "Default Lines" has a higher rating then this.

It's a bit too slow. I haven't gotten too far into it, and I'll try to watch it fully through and give some proper feedback, but the few times I watched it it wasn't clicking with me. I think the problem is that you guys didn't have as many great entries as Aaron did (the 3dmming side of the community was still strong at that point, and Aaron was kind of the king at the time), but you guys still aimed for a similar length, and of course don't have the experience or reputation to deny some of the just decent entries, and so you weren't nearly as shrewd in terms of the quality of entries you kept (even though you didn't include mine!)

The Big Movie was a lot of fun, but it was more like a long ass film-festival with an awesome finale. This is more like releasing a posthumous work that an artist wasn't able to finish before he died, so it's natural that it won't get anywhere near the same fanfare and immediate attention. Sorry if that's what you were hoping for. Although I must say it's invaluable to people like me who love going back through old 3dmm movies. Without something compiled like this, Big Movie 2 wouldn't even exist in my mind. But now these scraps of genius are compiled in a faithful and elegant way to be enjoyed by posterity .

Like we all said in the big movie 2 forums, this was all put together just to finally finish it.

Perhaps a chain movie with a little more depth/story to it. Like.. I thoroughly enjoyed the Backwards Chain movie and I'd love to be part of something like that. If anyone fancies doing something like that, I'd be more than up for it.

He wasn't insulting your efforts at all, I mean, I'm pretty sure most of us think its pretty cool that you salvaged BM2 and at least made this out of it rather than all that effort going to waste.

However, the project still lost 99% of its steam very quickly and the first Big Movie was a real tough act to follow as it was. Don't feel downtrodden by the lack of fanfare this has received, its less of a reflection of the film and more a reflection of how the 3dmm side of the community has died down over the past few years. Do your best to change this and revive 3dmm again!

haha alright alright, simmer down

EDIT: also JT, The Chair only has 2 pages of posts, I'd hardly say its been overshadowing this in terms of reception, its not like 3dmm is back from the dead yet

I leave for ten minutes, and all of a sudden there's a sequel to the biggest community project on this site?

Didn't see any of my submissions so I don't know why I was credited for adding some.

more reasons you can't expect this to get as much good feedback as BM1, loads of good entries were not put in this, there was nothing in the credits on who made what etc. things weren't 100% organized with crediting etc but that's not really your fault. just be proud though that you put more effort into this than the rest of us would and got this finished

Even Redux has sound errors (and was released with such).

We don't know WHY they occur, but we know that it's greatly influenced by importing scenes with sounds into a movie. Obviously with a project like this you are going to have LOTS of that- you either get lucky or you don't.

I don't remember how Aaron managed it for BM1, but I know him pretty well.. and, if there happened to be sound bugs, he might just have been crazy enough to export all of the sounds, put the movie together without any sounds, and then import each track and place them in the proper frames. I'm not saying he did this.. but one look at Vlarion tells you the guy doesn't cut corners
