To deal with the fact that Soundcloud/Youtube links aren't working the way I hoped I'm reposting with all the entries here instead of in the poll.

This week's theme is:

Vote for your favourite(s) and leave some feedback if you have the time!

lohr - i made this in 20 minutes
nickson - its not so much my type of song to listen to on its own, but i could picture this being the background music in a commercial with a soothing voice over it
scatterbrain - im gonna have to say the same comment as for nicksons, although yours sounds more professional. but i have to ask what is with the vinyl sound? it doesnt sound like its linked with a certain drum kick, so is it just on a loop that happens to fit perfectly with the measure length?

Definitely Lohr for me on this one; like scat in the City contest, Lohr seemed to go for more clear a visual. The synth-sun imagery I got from everyone else's was pretty interchangeable; the tracks weren't, of course, but the approach to the 'Summer' theme seemed to be. Lohr wins on the imagination and gorgeous sound of that jangly guitar. Though the tastiest sound in the whole contest was Nickson's first resonance-y piano.

i'm still waiting on Dan's entry the lying tit. I voted for Lohr's, definitely made me think of summer the most - Dave's was a close second!

Lohr, the vinyl crackle's on the drumloop sample as a whole yeah

lohr: reminds me most of summer. I could easily picture a summer activity montage going along with this

scatterbrain: simple but nice. didn't get much of a summer vibe from it though

nickson: nice track, but for me it was a little somber for a summer theme

compcat: this was actually pretty cool, although there was some timing issues. the steel drum sound in particular

Gotta be Lohr and Dave for me. As others have said, Lohr's has a definite summery feel to it. Dave's was great too though. Definite images of lounging in a hammock and the like.

it just feels like we get a shitload of votes really early then just wait for maybe one last guy to come out of the woodwork and in some cases barely change the result so maybe we'll make it 3-4 days? if people keep entering at least we'll get more contests and more music made

also new theme http://www.3dmm.com/showthread.php?p=1059868

Wow Dave's is phenomenal, was it really from scratch!?
If so you should totally let my friend/someone/anyone sample it for a hip hop beat

Thanks James! yes I did it from scratch with my guitar and the bass/drums/organ/vibes I used an old yamaha piano which has surprisingly good sound quality.

I recently bought a loop pedal which is easily my favourite musical purchase of all time and is great for these kinds of tracks

anyways, feel free to use it.
