Pepsi Max Ad

I developed and directed this ad for Pepsi featuring Jeff Gordon taking a car salesman out for a test drive as a hidden camera prank. It went up early last week and blew up, and now it's at almost 25 million views. It's been funny to see the debate online as to how much of it is real or not.

It's all 100% fake. The salesman is an actor we cast, a stunt driver did the driving (Jeff Gordon is worth too much to do risky stunt driving), and I tried to direct it in such a way to make it as real as possible because we knew the debate would spur more people to watch it. Technically I'm violating my NDA by telling you guys this, but I figure 3dmm is a safe place to talk about it.

hahah great job.

i kinda feel that the salesman could have been a bit more convincing, but i also did go into the video with a "this might be fake" mindset so i dunno. although some people probably would react like he did

its funny to me that it isn't even jeff gordon driving. that is something i would not have assumed even when thinking the rest of the video is set up, even though it makes sense

haha, I was actually thinking of starting a thread asking you if this was fake or not. (didn't know/think you did this one)

being almost certain that it was

Seen this posted all over facebook and the web, so well done and kudos to you and those involved.

Bravo, huge claps all around.

Love the fact that you fooled everyone. HATE the fact that you faked this and this fake shit is being done and making everyone question every video now cause people are just making up videos all the time now.

Really good video but the "can we do it again?" at the end was too cheesy to be real

Wow a couple of my facebook friends posted this when it came out! This is pretty well done for a fake viral compared to the other stuff out there that tries to pass as real (the "eagle snatching baby" is still the best one tho). And I think the "can we do it again?" line is believable enough considering that car salesmen generally have a cheesy sense of humor.
