3dmm Secret Santa 2012 - Interest Check

Kind of late to be kicking this off (although half the packages would turn up in January either way) but I figured I'd find out if anybody is actually interested. Last year proved that this concept seems to be running out of steam but doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe everyone is suddenly ready for a comeback.

And yeah, I guess I'd organise it.

Look up previous secret santa threads you NEW PIECE OF SHIT.

Also yeah Trooper, leaving it a bit late to put it lightly. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get much response. But if you want, we can just send each other shoeboxes of crap just us two.

Yeah, it's not like I've been desperate to do this but it just occurred to me last night that nobody had mentioned it this year.

Late start or not, I think people aren't so keen to do this anymore. I wouldn't object to a shoebox of crap from you though, as it were.

I would do it, but it's a bit late and I've already paid $50 in postage in the name of 3dmm this year.

Would like to do a beer/alcohol swap with 3dmmers of adult-age who can get various local brews that I may not have tried here.

And then in return, not send them a 12 pack of Smirnoff Ice.

I just bubble wrap 'em, put 'em in a box with a sixer/divider (or not) and fill the open space with stuffing. Just did a holiday beer swap; sent via UPS; no questions were asked. It's not even that expensive.

I'd trade some local stuff with ya. What kind of beers are you into? The east coast's scene is... alright... nothing outstanding. But there's a lot of interesting beers available here nonetheless I'd be happy to send you, if you don't get 'em.

But did it go through customs or was it within your country? Shipping internally is fine (as in if its packaged right nobody will really question it), but when it passes customs there's the possibility of it getting confiscated, fines, charged, etc.

There were a couple guys who shipped outside the country in the beer swap I participated in. Zaquis and I are both in the States, so we don't have to worry about it. Anyway, I'd be more concerned with the cost of shipping overseas than customs confiscating a beer, and because of that alone I probably won't sign up for any swaps with people in Europe/Australia, etc, though I would sincerely like a real English ale.
