Why don't cinemas do this?

You know what I fucking love? Watching my favourite TV shows each weed. I loved watching Band of Brothers, and The Pacific, the Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones. I love watching The Walking Dead, Revolution, Fringe, and whatever the fuck. It's hard keeping on top of them, and I do download and play catch up a lot, but I had an idea and wondered why cinema's don't show these series weekly?

It'd be fucking awesome, as a group of mates, to go the cinema and watch The Walking Dead every Tuesday or whatever at midnight and watch the latest episode.

Who agrees? I hope there's not some shitty legal reason as to why this can't happen.

I hope some major media executive is secretly following the site and decides to start showing the Walking Dead in English at the cinema that I go to in Barcelona. That'd be nice of them. Gracias.

It's more profitable to just play movies, because people have the option of just staying home to watch TV. And I imagine dealing with movie theater bullshit (driving, parking, tickets, snacks) every week isn't convenient for most people.

If there was one nearer to me that did that, i'd deffo go. Seeing Band of Brothers for the first time when i was like 13 in the cinema would've been mind blowing. Although 1 hour episodes wouldn't have been enough, it's just be frustrating.

Because that's why TVs were invented in the first place, so you don't have to go out and pay money to watch stuff.

It's there in your living room...for free! Most people have big enough TVs and living rooms to have a group of friends over, or if not most people at least one of the people in the group do.

Up until a few years ago not much on TV was really worth seeing on a big screen except maybe a few nature documentaries. But I agree there are some cool cinematic shows that would be great to see in a theatre.

But really having to go to the theatre every time you wanted to watch a show would be so annoying. I just cringe at the thought of trying to watch a new Walking Dead episode when a bunch of morons in front of me keep talking or getting up and such.

However I agree that this could work with a few select shows, Walking Dead being one of them. But I think just the costs of showing it would be half the price of a movie ticket, even with a pass it wouldn't be cheap.

Jimmah you just need a nice big screen, a comfy couch and a beer or two and you'd never want to go to the cinema again.

I have heard of some theatres doing this for major series finales and sporting events like the World Cup but with limited success.

Also local theaters air shows in my neighborhood all the time. Like every Wednesday or whatever you can go up the street, buy a pitcher of beer, and watch the newest episode of the walking dead. There are a lot of places here that do stuff like that
