Tutorial: Properly converting textures to 3dmm (quality control)

I've noticed a massive spurt in mod releases from some amazing new members, but I'm noticing a lack of quality control when converting the textures - which is a shame. These are great models, with a lot of effort put in, and the textures are being overlooked.

So I'm putting an end to this.

The below video will show you how to take your textures, convert them to the 3dmm palette (outside of 7gen) and ensure you get EXACTLY the texture you want. This way you can control the dithering and ensure your textures don't get destroyed in the 7gen conversion process.

This is done using GIMP (free to download here) and the 3dmm palette file (below). The steps are pretty much exactly the same for Photoshop, but I decided to do it in GIMP so everybody can do it - with or without Photoshop.

THE VIDEO:
WARNING: CONTAINS BAD WORDS. 14+ ONLY.

Thanks all.

Thanks so much man. I'll fix it Kirby and upload him in a bit, and I'll make sure I'll do this for future mods.

Good job man. I keep forgetting that the palette is floating around. Would have been useful for some 3D Word textures I've been making.

I drop a handful of swears in the video. I'll add a rating of 14+. That should keep the children away.
