The Walking Dead Game

I just completed episode 1, soo good so far, its a point and click game made by tell tale and the comic style looks awesome, anybody else played/going to play it?

I really love Perfect Dark, myself. But the N64 one, not any X-box nonsense!

i personally believe that they could have made a way better game than they've created though, i mean, they've got a lot of money now (obviously because of the walking dead show itself) they could have made an awesome walking dead game where you actually have to do everything yourself, instead of walking about and tapping a few buttons at specific times. make it an fps with tons of zombies going about, having to build barricades and find shit.. then, in the cutscenes they could have had the 'hit this button' style they've got going on.

shit could have gone viral.

but yeah, it's alright.

eukos: battlefield 3 haha, mw3 sucks ass.

well no cuz the people who made this are Tell tale games, not amc, and it is based off the comics, not the show.

it is meant to be a point and click sort of adventure game, not free roam.

woah, have a little bitch about it. my first comment basically said 'i like this, but i'll buy it later', my other comment was basically saying they'd get a lot more people playing if they'd made it a little more 'common', that's all

its a game by Telltale. of course they are going to make yet another point-and-click. this one is supposed to be good but only the 1st episode is out i think? but i don't like the walking dead show, and i wasn't much into telltale's other stuff, so i haven't tried it

and you want quick time events during cutscenes? why, those are the worst thing in games

there's already been so many zombie FPS games. yes, its sad that a decent SURVIVAL zombie FPS/TPS was never created (other than maybe the first Resident Evils), but i really doubt a Walking Dead one would be a good place to start with this

i've never played any telltale games, and i've never really played quick time events during cutscenes either - it was more spur of the moment thoughts than anything.

yeah, a good survival horror fps would be decent, most zombies games these days have been a letdown

i love some of today's zombie games (left 4 dead, dead island, resident evil 4) but theyre all pure action today

yeah quick time events were shoved into like every game's cutscenes for a while, a few years back it was way too common. now it seems theyre fading out as people began to realize this

i liked dead island, eventually burned myself out and couldn't play it again, left 4 dead i didn't like that much though, unless i was playing with friends.

the earlier resi games were great, but one of the latest ones with all the african zombie folk? i couldn't even beat the first boss with the chainsaw

i hated it because you are basically Rambo through the whole game, using machine guns on the back of vehicles, etc. at least 4 kept the scary all-alone atmosphere, and didn't go quite as far with the Rambo action. also almost all of 5's bosses were lame. the worst was shooting the necklace off Jill

but Mercenaries mode was badass as ever, although the time extension through melee attacks was kinda exploitable, which sucked since in 4 there weren't really any easily exploitable things.
i'd LOVE a Mercenaries-only game to come to PC and actually be good

The QTEs in RE4 got really annoying eventually. Like, that knife fight with Krauser was really dumb.

There was this little-known Action Adventure for PS2 called Haven which was really entertaining throughout and had a very rich storyline and then you get to the final boss and the ENTIRE THING is a QTE. It's not even like you had to fight the guy until he was at low health and then perform some sort of final execution. What a letdown.

Edit: And FUCK the ones in Castlevania LoS. You walk up to a door and try to pull a lever, and you have to time three button presses to do it. If you fail, you start again. You're literally standing in an empty room and timing your buttons so you can open the fucking door.

the worst thing about ones in cutscenes to me is that i put the controller down during cutscenes, so i ALWAYS die the first time that one pops up. its such a cheap way of making you feel like you are part of the cutscene action, when its barely even a form of interaction. its seriously just randomly saying "PUSH THIS BUTTON ON YOUR CONTROLLER OR WE WILL KILL YOUR CHARACTER RIGHT NOW" in the middle of a video sequence that has for the last 20 seconds had zero interaction

i dont like any of them, but i mind them less when they are initiated by you in-gameplay, like alan wake starting the generators or whatever

Lohr, Have you tried the mod NO MORE ROOM IN HELL for HL2? It's the hardest FPS zombie game I've played. I joined a server w/4 others we go to the first event after breaking out of the attic, we all got bitten. The zombies move really slow. You have very little supplies. It's worth it. It's free. I uninstalled it immediately after my first play through though, because to me it seemed so hard that it was un-enjoyable.
