This place is spooky

Alright so my other threads went over like lead balloons, so I mixed it up a bit this time.

this is a hip hop instrumental I made with a SEXY vibe to it...

what do y'all think?

I can imagine a middle aged black couple making out to this music. Reminds me of barry white. Doesn't really remind me of hip hop though, maybe the beats aren't fat enough? It almost reminds me of trip hop though. Sort of Portishead/Massive attack? It's nice though. Great job!

AHhHhhaha

I liked it, even though I feel like the "this place is spooky" is out of place here.

you're right about "this place is spooky" being out of place.

I need to do a more proper 3dmm sampling song like Lohr does

thanks for commenting guys

sounds cool, chill, like lizard said i wouldnt really say this sounds like hip hop, i think there just isn't enough of an emphasis on the basic hiphop beat for that (kick on 1 snare on 2+4), but its cool. yeah "this place is spooky" is kinda out of place in the middle of such a chill song haha, but keep sampling

alright i'm getting back into sampling again, made this real quick, reminds me a bit of that level in sonic 2

and this is a bonus somewhat unfinished song: I was high on MDMA a few months ago and spent a few hours making it, but I just wasn't satisfied with it, it's got a few issues. I lost the hard copy so it'll probably stay unfinished.

I like the original post song. It has nice atmosphere. I like the sonic one. The third one with the piano, it's rough. I like Lord of the Rings music. I think you need to put more soul in your music. You gotta believe. Do whatever it takes to believe, then make music, and the music will show your true soul.

thanks guys. I've been playing a ton of music this last year but not recording much at all so hopefully I can inject some of dat soul into my recordings

oh ya, I may as well post this hip hop thing too which I forgot about, made it quite a while back. the samples/recording is kind of iffy but its kinda funky
I guess

Really digging this stuff mate, needs a bit more of a thump in the bass i feel for it to be hip hop but i could definitely add some rhymes over the top. Reminds me of People Under The Stairs.

pretty cool, are you playing all the instruments in these or sampling any outside tracks?

yeah pretty much all sampled from my own tracks, there's a couple sound fx i sampled and I spliced up a bit of piano from a bill evans song. the unfinished song was completely sampled from a song I recorded on my piano. It was actually kind of fun, I hooked my loop pedal into the piano, recorded a drum track and then layered piano onto it a few chords at a time, then bass etc. then I re sampled it on my computer to make it into a hip hop thing
