Want your voice in a game?

Well here's your chance.

I run a HL2 mod called Desolate, you can find us at www.Desolatemod.net

We are nearing the stage of our first alpha, I could use many talented voice actors for our voice commands. I know there are many talented people here, I used to be a 3DMM hardcore fan, so I know there is not only lots of talent, but very different types.

My sound artist Mix will be putting together a sound story board showing off the mods sounds and voices, It will follow a simple story line and I hope to have many of your voices in it.

The voice work will be simple commands, smiler to how Counter-Strike does it but we will have three variants of each voice command. I expect you to be creative on how you voice yourself. For the time being, they will be shouts, no talking so I expect them to be very loud as if you were yelling at someone from a block away. Please only matured voices, I don't want yelling prepubescent kids screaming.

Now this mod takes place in 2026, to sum it up...The world is ran by large clans, some fight to restore power, some fight for other reasons. The difference between them could be race, religion, location. I'd like to have these sounds in other languages if at all possible.

Some guidelines of voice work you can do:

Follow Me!
Flank left/right!
Scout Forward!
Positions!
Take it over boys!

Remeber, other languages, please.

If you have other ideas, please feel free to add them. Also, please sign up on my forum at www.desolatemod.net and introduce yourself so I know you are taking part. Those who take part will have access to the internal alpha of the game.

Lastly, if there is any modelers or skinners out there feel free to talk to us, we are always looking for talent.

EDIT: Preform the guidline commands as a test to beggine with, remeber they must be shouted very loud. DO NOT add special effects for the ingame EAX will do it for you.

I fail to see why it matters, but I'm 17 and have managed to gather a very large successful team. We have a modeler in the American army assuring weapon precision.

These will be the basics, if you give me a demo of yourself doing these I can get a sense of what other types I'd like.

Remember, your not a army thug, your an average guy forced to fight, so sound distressed and more or less like a big wimp.

Yes, I use hammer editor, it is the only current way to map for source, I have about 4 years experience mapping total.

Many of my modelers use Maya, 3dsmax and XSI, our sound artist uses the EAX SDK.

When I got Doom3, I replaced al the imp sounds with my voice. I said wierd and stupid shit like "HEY YOU FAGGOT!" abd "I'M DYING NOW!"

I did that with Half-life 1. I replaced the scientist's one liners with loud shreeks and screams. And replace the responces with "Shut the fuck up!" You know, stuff like that.
