Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor
WeenFanMike's Avatar
Plot Summary:
A music video I made for the song "Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor" by the Eels.

Another 3dmm movie I made. It's not cartoony like "Bothering Bongo". I wanted to see if I could pull a music video off, and also see if I could figure out the SceneED script for 3dmmAP2. It's a little sloppy, but I think it turned out alright.

There's a couple of parts where the animation really suffered (the falling part was kind of jarring), but I fucking love this. I echo what he said. Keep making movies, dude.

I'm not sure about this. I didn't like how she turned into an "unordinary" at the end.

Lol. I knew someone would mention the falling part...I kind of did a rush job on that part because it was frustrating getting the music to sync and I didn't feel like working on it anymore. Ah well thanks for the criticism

well good for you batman

WeenFanMike (or Mike, if that's easier) this was really cool! Yeah, people have pointed out the bits of animation that weren't fantastic, but there was actually an interesting concept here. This seems like the first mature thing I've seen in the Movies section in forever. Consider me a fan. And yeah, keep making movies!

Mike is fine, and thanks!

But now I really regret not working on the falling sequence...crap. I might decide to improve that part's animation sometime. (I know other things could use fixing, but that part keeps bothering me the most now that I keep watching it)

Yep, keep making movies!

Can't say I liked the song, but it was certainly well-made. And yeah, it's nice to see something a little more serious once in a while, so kudos for that.

Yeah, seriously. This is very good. I did like the song and thought it fit perfectly. I love the spooky deranged sort of style to everything. This is kind of making me want to start again too.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm not sure how much 3dmming I can do during the school year...but I'll see what I can do to get more movies up here. I kind of have an idea for a Ween music video (I kind of like them if you didn't know ) but I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that (I find it pretty tedious getting .wav music to sync with movies). What I'll probably end up doing is submitting more stuff like Bothering Bongo in the meantime.

HOLY SHIT, EPIPHANY ALERT

How you've changed the characters colours completely, cartoonized their faces, made me realise how much that can have an effect on style, and made me realise OH MY GOD I COULD REDRAW THE FACES effectively combining 3DMM with illustration. I've done it before but I've never thought about really getting down to doing a proper movie with actors completely redrawn. I guess it's not so much an epiphany, more of a revived realisation, WHICH IS BASICALLY THE SAME THING AT THIS POINT.

Although that said the 256 colour limit might prove hazardous.

This. I tried something similar once. Just make sure you draw using the 3dmm palette and nothing else.
