What are the small things that irk the fuck out of you?

there are so, so, so many that bother me. i won't get into it, because it would probably take an hour to type them all out. but i'll start it off with something small that bothers me.

right now, i can hear someone's alarm going off. i live in a dorm with a ton of other people. the doors are so cheap (and have an inch-tall space at the bottom) that the alarm sound can be heard perfectly. it pisses me off when people allow their alarms to continually go off. especially when it's an annoying sound drilling into my brain.

another thing that pisses me off is when you're in a public place, walking around, and some asshole(s) just stops and stands in your way. it's really annoying, because then you have to walk around them for being so damn inconsiderate and stupid. i just want to push these type of people out of my way. a spin-off of this is when someone in front of you is walking incredibly slow and in your way.

I'm one of those generally-angry-at-modern-society kinda shut-ins, so basically anything to do with popular culture pisses me off.

I hate, more than probably anything, are shallow people, who are also EXTREMELY fucking outgoing, and therefore have countless friends. There was a pair of girls like this I knew in high school, one of them was really hot, and the other one was a fucking ugly giant. I was pretty good friends with the hot chick for awhile though, and we'd talk heaps. The thing is, though, once I thought about it, was that their personalities were exactly the same. They both were loud, laughed fakely at everything, told anyone they talked to that they were their best friend, and flirted with everyone they came across, although the ugly one didn't really get anywhere from that. Basically, they were just really naive, boring loud people who never took anything seriously or intelligently.

Of course, being 16 at the time, I developed a fucking shitter of a crush on the hot chick, and had a really emo 6 months after she told me I 'was like her big brother'. The thing that fucking irks me, is that I just ignored how irritating she was, because she was good looking, even though I couldn't stand the other chick.

Ever since then I never trusted a good looking girl. That's the reason I never get laid, not because I'm a cynical shut-in asshole. HAH.

well for most people, fingernails on the blackboard shit a lot of people, but for me it's scraping ice. If someone is taking something out of a freezer and it scrapes some ice, I go all shivery it just gets right up my spine.

As for the other things
Hmm, The biggest thing that is shitting me lately is the australian society in general.
People who think they have australian heritage when their history goes back four generations, that's when their decendants migrated to australia, and they have no idea where the hell their decendants came from before that.
I know it probably sounds pointless and irrelevant, but I love checking people's heritage, it's just really interesting for me. Like this guy I knew, his surname was Ostojic, clearly croatian, but he had no idea where his granparent's parent's came from.
And my surname, Francis, is from wales, and I also have german, scottish and lots of dutch. It doesn't say much about who I am right now (except that I LOVE european food) but I think it's really interesting.

Other small things: people who are unaware of the capitolistic persuasions behind things they buy or believe in.
People who take a completely pragmatic approach to life.
people who watch tv even if there's nothing worth watching.
People who have a mainstream taste of everything

When I'm watching a movie, and someone starts talking into their cell phone. I mean, really. Why'd you pay 8 bucks not to watch the movie? And piss off everyone else?

On the movie subject, well for the "all ages" kind of movies like Ice Age or Finding Nemo, you'll have kids in the audience and I REALLY hate it when the parents have the need to EXPLAIN every single thing to the kid. Your kid's not a retard you know. Maybe I should say that the next time.

ahh, one thing you will all find stupid, but I really dont like the happy birthday song. When I was younge it was fun, but now it deliberately centers attention onto you and celebrates your birthday in a glowing moment with a song that you have heard so many times in your life.

Another thing that really annoys me is the scrolling ticker on the news channels. Many, many times I'll catch something interesting just as it scrolls off the screen. So I'll see something like "...er in deadline-day trade" or "...tbreak of Ebola virus" or "...orld will end in 30 days". Because I'm not going to stare at the bottom of the screen until it comes around again, I normally end up scouring all the online news sites just to find out what the first half of the thing said.

Guy, I'm not like the Girl from Cat & Girl. I like some of the mainstream stuff, but the problem si that one of the main veins of Portuguese Pop Culture is a Tv Channel that denies most of the foreign stuff and centers more on national stuff. For one thing, they are promoting nationism, but in the other hand, they are starting to give the world some sort of xenophobism against other cultures. Most of the villians in the shows are smart, cultured people who happen to have an afflitation with anglo-speaking countries. The "dumb" american, the evil english, the non-conformist "anti-materialist", the arrogant computer nerd, the easy-to-fool asians, the anti-sensitive businessman, the hippie, the satisfied yet bitter old people, the lonely gay men, the slutty lesbian, the "silly" person who happens to have "wierd" ideas like a ladies night...

I can't be mad with popular culture. I admit that some of the mainstream and popular stuff can be watched and appreciated correctly, but my problem with the popular culture in my country is that they promote at the same time, an extremelly hyprocritical, dumb, anti-intelectualist and anti-anglo-saxonic culture.
To make it worse, the most watched show in my country is made by young people. I just thought that they had old people trying to be hip making the script, but my shock came to me on a magazine article. What is the justification for not showcase the actual problems for our country and aproach them correctly? "Too preepy and nerdy!" YEAH, YOU DON'T APROACH ABORTION BY SHOWING BOTH SIDES. YOU JUST DENY IT BECAUSE YOU ARE KILLING SOULS. AND HOMOSEXUALITY IS JUST SOME DUMB THING FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T GET LAID, AND DRUG USAGE IS BAD, BECAUSE A 40 MG DOSAGE OF ECSTACY HAS THE SAME EFFECTS AS ZYME ON DEUS EX. AND IF YOU HEAR ANY INTERNET JARGON, SLAM THE SOURCE. AND ENGLISH PEOPLE ARE BAD AND YET ANYONE SPEAKS PORTUGUESE FLUENTLY , ONLY THEY PUT A FEW NATIVE WORDS FROM THEIR LANGUAGE TO SHOWCASE THAT THEY ARE FOREIGN.
