*sees The Passion of The Christ*

Well, I just saw the much awaited Passion of the Christ and my thoughts are as follows:

1) I am not a religious person, I'm agnostic. But this film interested me greatly, not because it might "convert me" but because I downloaded just the trailer and was so moved just from that. I mean, that was kind of weird, a shitty 3 minute low quality trailer on the computer, and I was moved. So I had to see it in all it's glory.

2) It's a brilliant movie. It's not a - "brilliant story of what real religion is", "brilliant guide for people to find and convert to Christianity with", "brilliant action/comedy with a twist at the end you wouldn't believe (HE COMES BACK TO LIFE!)" or a "brilliant depiction of the life of christ, down to the letter." It's just a brilliant movie. Brilliant acting, amazing cinematography, a sweeping score and of course, incredibly brutal but at times necessary violence.

Fuck the 1), 2), 3) thing now. I'll just talk. As moved as I was in the trailer, I was more moved throughout the whole movie. Yes, I was moved to tears, several times throughout the movie, not because I had an epiphany and realised Jesus WAS my saviour, but because I felt such empathy and care for what was happening to Jesus that I simply couldn't understand how much of a harshly brutul beating he was destined to take.
So yeah, I cried. lol. fag. But it was an amazing movie, and even though I'm still asking the same questions about the identity of a real God (if there is one) after the movie as I was asking before, at least I was able to see this beautiful, powerful piece of art and appreciate it for what it was.

I know I'm being a dick but it's just.....funny!

I dunno, to cry during this movie and not be religious just seems weird. Especially since you know what happens, and it's not really revealing it. And Jesus is just such a comical figure now, especially on this board, I dunno, I'll probably laugh when I see the movie.

no I read it. It's just....it's a movie about JESUS, and you might not be crying cause you're a religious freak or whatever, but your still crying about Jesus getting killed. I'm sure it is a great movie, that's why I'm going to see it tomorrow, or if not probably this weekend.

You do realize that Jesus is a real person, right? It would be pretty said if you had the ability to laugh when this is something that historically happened to a person. Crying and not being religious is very understandable, I mean, he is a human being being tortured...

Ok, so I admit, proof was a bad word to use. As of right now though, I have to go to bed, so I won't really go into it all that much, but you could always check out this link http://www.probe.org/docs/ancient.html. It's just different evidence from 'non-christian' sources that back up the history of Jesus.
