There we go.. Got some sounds from @C418, implemented redstone and punch triggering, and it's all very silly now.

beta date has been announced!

20th December , so i highly suggest getting it really soon

also , this is quite odd :

Quote:
We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

so if you didnt buy it in alpha you would have to pay for bug patch's and updates?

I think you're getting confused by something very simple.

it's a win/lose situation -- it's a win because it can create a lot of income to work on it full-time but it's a lose because the fanbase is already there and so there's going to be less people paying for the full price.

Then what does he mean in what Bill Nickson quoted, since he apparently doesn't mean that Beta players don't get the full game? What else is he talking about?

That Alpha people don't have to pay the difference in whatever the updated price is?

But Beta don't either, since he said

If you buy the game, regardless of when, you never have to pay again to get the full version.

So, what could he have possibly originally meant in Nickson's quote, unless he switched his plan after getting a bad response?

He switched plans, I believe.

From Twitter:
Quote:
Buying during beta = get everything up to and including release version for free. Expansions might cost.
Quote:
The cost at final release will be about 20 euro (19.95, probably). Alpha = 50% off, all updates for free. Beta = 25% off.

Yeah, so Alpha was dirt-cheap and Beta will cost more but still be a little cheaper than the final product. Alpha and Beta customers get all the updates up to the full release and all bug fixes beyond the full release.

Was off this morning cos I had to render about 40 videos for a project and it was going slow as hell haha, up now though!
Once I get some stuff sorted out this afternoon, I'm gonna update the server/plugins actually.

What's everyone been up to on the server then recently? Would love some screenshots to put on the site.

You definitely do, one of the best things on the map so far I'd say.

Oh yeah, www.minecraft.net got an overhaul and there's a handy help page now!
