3DMM Movie Progression Thread

Since Aaron Haynes has scarpered off to Florida, and there's no-one here to get everyone's enthusiasm up, I thought it was time to get this ball rolling. Go team: how's everyone progressing with their projects? I'll start:

Ringworld - Opening finished, constructing the city at the beginning and then it's all systems go. ETA August

Batman - Still in pre-production Joker lines finished though so expect a teaser trailer hit by August.

Summer Fest. Movie - Andres just finished the models so it'll be finished in a week or so

I want to make my own custom models for the ships, so I need to learn Blender before I can continue.

Vigilante
Almost everything's in order. Going to start some serious work on it this weekend.

Trailer for Against All Odds - Skipping along, I'd say it's around 30%. The trailer is important, as the style of the movie is quite specific. If it's not enjoyed by the community - I'll probably put off making the actual film.

Mean Bread's Totally Bitchin' Adventure - Yeah, it's my part and I've had it for a while, I'm stuck in the middle of a lot of work, I should be finished by tommorow though (the work that is): so for the most part, I'll be finished in a week (then it goes back to Russ).

Shnukkums 2 - I'm not sure on the interest of this one, the actual movie is about 15% done, but it's pretty fucking wierd. I'll consider finishing it if anyone cares.

WAR - A little 1 or 2 minute movie that was going to show the advances in visuals the War Expansion pack could do for you. It's about 20% done, where the actual Expansion back is about 40% done. I haven't touched this in a while.

[[[Other Stuff]]]

AutoFade - I finally got my files back, it's all kinda macro run though - in which case it's already done and just needs testing. I wanted to port it over to AP2, but I'm not sure if it'll allow me to. I'll look into it.

City Expansion Pack - Another thing I haven't touched in a while. 20% done, I think? I'll work on it when I've got all my college stuff out of the way (and before I start working, I guess).

Character Snazz Set - Well, I've just got to figure out how to do the 'upper sleeve' remodelling (that Evil Ash did a tutorial on, but I really can't understand at all) and it'll get the ball rolling majorly for me. Maybe I can do everything but send someone who knows how to do it the unfinished models to round up? Who knows. I've got Patrick and someone else done, I guess that makes things a while away - but it's another thing I'm doing.

Legacy of Saradomin - I haven't worked much on it lately, but I'll get back into it soon. Still, as said in the hype thread it's about 31% done, and it WILL have voice actors, I just won't get any until the film's practically finished. Umm.. that's all, really.

Mean Bread's Totally Bitchin' Adventure - As Ferret said he still has the movie and I am greatly looking forward to his part. hopefully we will be able to pass it back and forth at least 3 more times, but, if not... then I'll be sad.

00 Dee Boned - <working title> - yeah, that's how much I have to do yet. It doesn't have a title. You know how my sig says 6%? it's more like .6%. But, I also really havn't been working on it constantly because there is no allotted time for me to finish so there is no pressure. But, from what I've storyboarded and animated so far, it'll be the BEST movie I've ever made. EVER. it might even be my last.

Chain movie with Anders - doesnt have a name yet. just started animating the first part. It'll be short and sweet movie. A side extra thingy. It might just get dropped though, i havn't talked to Anders over AIM in a while.

Bring me the Biscuits - I got it all ready. the script, and voices, now all it is is a matter of animating the bitch.

Theatrically Threatened - Directed by Thomas Bown. I believe Tom is working on the opening scenes. Best case scenario, will probably be ready by the end of the year.

Boys In Blue - Directed by Thomas Bown (?). All Tom and I have so far is a script, voice lines, and some scenery construction. No idea about a release date. Too bad... I really like this one.

3DMM Awards Skit - Not really a movie, but a skit interwoven into the upcoming Awards Movie, featuring the CNCW characters. Release date: SOON!

Deck the Hacks II - Directed by Ned Carlson. I'm working on the plot. Could be released either this or next year.

Nocturne of Darkness 1: The Awakening - Well on it's way. I would estimate about 8-9% done.

Roadkill Productions Chain Movie - Dave has gone, waiting for Ben to do his part. Then it's just 4 or 5 people, then me.

Tale Of A Toy Monkey: Rise Of The Toys
Movies script is still in the making but the scenes in the teaser are from the movie. The actual movie is about 2% done.

Roadkill Productions Chain Movie
As Simon has said, I have the movie at the mo, I am doing a story board for it at the moment with drawing and going through what I'll be doing in it. The last scene I did was about 2 weeks ago. Don't worry though Red, it's coming along fine.

The Handmade Character DVD Edition
Currently working on the bonus features for the time being. This is really a parttime project to work on if I get bored. For the actual movie, the original version is obviously done, I'm working on the Extended version and the originals commentary. Theres some sounds in the movie with I need to mute but I can't find where it is! However this is aimed for release a year after the originals release. So if I finish it in a month, I'll wait until 2nd May 2006.

Law On Thin Ice
A project me and Atlantis started together until he left the community. We talked and I'll be finishing it. He will even pitch in a hand or two sometimes. He asked me to find another director to help out if they want to be part of the movie. So if anyones actualy intrested, msn me.

Strom and Varick

I know what I'm doing with this, that will increase the development rate IMMENSLY. The structure of all the characters in this movie are very similar to normal 3dmm characters - so I'm doing a total conversion of certain characters to look EXACTLY like the hand made Strom and Varick you've seen. It will make animating this movie a breeze, and won't sacrifice any quality, cause I can always break into hand made for those extra animations (I can hide parts of the character model with trans. textures, and yeah - you get it). The only real obsticle is the German... but I'll worry about that later and get some real, physical process done. Estimated arrival: Episode 0 - Christmas

2ch: Death and Rebirth

Script = done. Music = layed out. I have a fucking timeline for this movie. All I got to do, is make it. I'm still trying to find the best way to go about making the little dudes. They don't have a lot of parts, so I could make them hand made out of cel-shaded shapes (making the head a seperate model though, to make it easier and faster). I've still got to do some dev planning on it. There's no way I can plan to make my own animations and ever finish this project... it needs some thinking, that's what it needs. Partially hand made seems like the best choice. I mean, they all have what, 9 limbs + a head at most? Easy. Estimated Arrival: 2006

The Mavin Cloak

Scriptwork and concept art is all I've got done. I have the entire movie layed out in my head, just have to model and get to work. Estimated arrival: Fall 2005

SUPER SECRET OMG MOVIE

I've got about 1/3 of the models I need done (which is how much I need done to make enough scenes to send into Taco for the FF). I'm working on the movie, and have the script all layed out in my head. I'll have to right it down soon and get some voice actors and a composer - all of whom have to be really cool with keeping secrets. Estimated arrival: Summer Film Festival

Echondria: Prologue
Screenplay finished. Working on storyboarding and scene construction. Will be finished for Summer film festival.

Echondria
Screenplay and story development in progress. I'm sharing story writing between me and my brothers to make it fresh and have a solid story and script. Scattered scenes created for the teaser trailer are finished. This helps some scene construction along too, as some was necessary for this trailer. In the process of scouting music as well. On track for a winter release.

Ashes to Ashes
Screenplay finished. Stalled in scene construction for the only major set piece in the film. Depending on how Echondria's story development moves along, this could see a fall release as I work on the other. A short, experimental psychological drama.

Project V:
Because of the particular story constraints of this type of movie, I gotta have 9 sequels worth of story planned out before I can even start making Project V Episode 1. (Or V#1, as my silly episode guide calls it )
I still need to figure out what happens in episode #3 through #7.
I know how #3 begins, and how #7 ends, but other than that, I'm blank.

AWAITING INSPIRATION (and B5 DVDs )

Mario Saga 2
Approx completed: 30%

Since I've started working on the Mario part of the movie production has come to a complete halt. I don't want Mario to really talk outside the usual 'Woohoo' or 'It's-a-me!' sound effects, so I have him talk through Toad, which is where the difficulty arises. I COULD work Joe Mario into the story, but his character is essentially what Toad's has become, and they're both voiced by me, anyway. I could eliminate the Mario story, but that would be insanely cheap, and I don't think the Merlitar story would be strong enough on its own.

Third Vlarion 2 - I've got like, 10 lines of script written, and a bunch of ideas in my head. I don't know where it's going.

Abduction - 75% of the script is written. And I've got all my music. I Don't know what to do, though. I want to nix the sphere characters but I don't, but I do, but...argh,,

Desert Eagle - I've got about 35% of the actual movie done. I need to tweak some animation I've already done, and actually make an into since right now it's pretty much just 60 frames of black.

TIOTIV: The Series

I'm currently waiting on a copy of 3DS Max, so that I can start work on my characters and scenes. Like the old version of the film, the series will be entirely hand-made.

BUT!

TIOTIV: Episode 1

Script - 100%
Character Design - 20-50%
Scene Design - 20-50%

TIOTIV: Episode 2

Script - 100%
Character Design - 20-50%
Scene Design - 10-40%

TIOTIV: Episode 3

Script - 10%
Character Design - 20-50%
Scene Design - 10-40%

This is gonna be a long job!

Inner Eye - Currently totally frozen until I have enough motivation to work on it again, whcih probably won't be for some time. Script probably needs some tweaking but at least I've got most of the beginning done.

Heroes and Horror Stories - Warren's finished the script and got the voice actors, and once I get the lines I can start work on it.

Magnum Riviera - Working title crime/noir movie. The script isn't finished and I'll need a decent weapons pack but I'm confident that I can do a movie like this.

Locked Up

Starting it with Tarssuinn now, this will be good, you guys will get to see David's work. Right so yeah...The script is almost done, Tarssuinn is doing some testing of handmade characters...
He's read some of the action parts and finished like 5 or something. The movie will have loads of handmade characters, defaults etc...I hope this will be good...Maybe about 5%

Brotherly Blade

I am currently not working on this as I am waiting on a chain movie, it'll be like the Vlarion stuff I think...Hopefully. 8%...or something, its about quarter of the way through the film right now.

Road Kill 2

This will and I mean will be totally better than the other one...Maybe a few handmade characters and stuff...hehe.
0%, not started yet but I will think up something for it.

Also the Roadkill chain movie, 0% for me, I haven't got it yet.

I'm working on several shorts, which I hope to compile into one movie, but seeing as it's becoming increasingly unlikely that'll I'll be able to complete them all for the FF, I'll probably end up postponing the compilation for a month or two and just release one of the shorts for the FF.

As to my other projects, things are far less certian.
With Ramza gone, Gnomes 2 is in limbo until I figure out how exactly I should procede. Then with Hell's Twilight, I'm still suffering from writer's block. I'm begining to feel like that I aimed too high when I thought of the idea, seeing as I don't have much experience with writing, and am considering postponing the project indefinantly to work on something smaller and less ambitious.
