00Dee Boned: Venison Jelly

Go to movie
00Dee Boned must recover X12's sandwich.

Originally posted 3/7/05: I recently took it upon myself to watch three of the 00Dee Boned movies. The reason I am not reviewing the other two(Rotissarie Chicken and You only live until you die) were kind of short and more or less like... music videos... Anyway, After Rotissarie Chicken and You Only Live Until You Die, Russel Stepan delivers the much more plot driven installment of his Dee Boned series, Venison Jelly. Venison Jelly is, without a doubt, the best of the three I watched.

Venison Jelly has the edge over the other two for various reasons, first one is probably voices. Venison Jelly is the only one I watched to have voices and aside from a bit of a... distorted quality to X12's voice, the others have no problems. The voice acting is pretty good, considering Jaymond provided the voice of Agent 539 and Russel himself did the voice of title character 00Dee Boned. Another reason Venison Jelly triumphs over Rotissarie Chicken and You Only Live Until You Die is because of the silly plot. The plot and the writing of this movie is pretty good and I can now see why this series has become so popular. Finally, I think the other reason that Venison Jelly towers over it's predecessors is because it makes excellent use of the expansion and it also delivers some pretty cool cinematography.

Venison Jelly is probably one of the best blends of action and comedy I've seen since JDR Revival. On top of that, it uses some original uses of 3DMM itself and just... impressed me. I anticipate Russel Stepan's next Dee Boned movie... or Shit-Head: The Musical or... whatever the hell it is he's working on right now. Anyway... Venison Jelly is a really good, although *seemingly* pointless, action comedy and I would definitely recomend to anyone with a spare ten minutes.

I think this is what ultimately inspired me to get back into 3DMM way back when. Prior to this I didn't think you could do half of what Cowtacular did here. Still amazing.
