I dunno, I click record, I can play it back and I can save it without it taking 5+ seconds to save the goddamn file. That's a lot better than the other shit I was using.

But wtf... I was just recording a bunch of lines for the Henry vs. Skelly 3 movie. I did a whole bunch of them, an error pops up, but I didn't read it because I pressed enter or something as soon as it popped up and I can't record anymore. I close it, reopen it and then the record button works again... but now it's not registering the microphone.

yes, audacity has problems. its better than the other shit you were using cause the other free stuff you were using was terrible.

if anything you should get the non-beta Audacity. the 1.2.whatever, instead of 1.3

but you could also just get a real program, like ableton or something. even just for voice lines, its just as simple to record, but you could do all sorts of non-destructive crazy effects editing and stuff.

Because goldwave took 5 seconds to save a file and made files almost 1GB. I'm sure it's something in the settings, but if the default setting do that, goldwave can go fuck itself. Learning is for suckers.

it took 5 seconds because you had it saving entirely uncompressed which cause a 1gb file. changing that setting probably would take 1 minute but OK
