Naw, it's actually a lot worse. I say I'm more interested in uniquely ugly girls than conventionally beautiful ones, but I have no interest whatsoever in conventionally ugly girls. I take pride in being abnormal. But also I'm always trying to understand aesthetics and beauty and stuff.

Honestly I think how girls carry themselves matters way more than just their physical appearance. Uniqueness in that regard usually means intelligence of some sort, and when it comes to "hotness" that uniqueness usually comes in the form of contradicting expectations, like if an "ugly" girl acts "hot" and vice versa. I don't understand why anyone can find Kesha attractive because she just presents herself as a dumpster.
